You mean to tell me, that of all the guys sitting in the dugout, they assign Missitt to catcher?

Frank - Nice Hub Auto ! Did you know there will be a book published in the coming months about Hub Perdue ? (John Simpson - Same guy who wrote "The Greatest Game ever played in Dixie.") I have been trading some emails with him and he is meeting with Hub's decendents as well as finishing up research in Sumner County and Nashville. (I can't wait for the book!)

Jeremy, I didn't know that, but now I'm looking forward to the book.

A fellow who's dad played in the minors with Hub took me down to Tennessee to meet Hub's son a few years ago. The two of them told me several stories, showed me some stuff... 2/3rds of a letter from FDR on Gov of NY letterhead thanking Hub for his help prior to FDR's 1st Presidential election and a backstamped Conlon photo of Hub with Evers while both were at Boston. It was a memorable day for me.

I hope to get a copy of that book. Please tell me more about that as time approaches. Does he need scans of cards? I have an example of most of Hub's cards...

My favorite Southern Leaguer......probably because his name is Ted......but more so, because Ted pitched a No-Hitter in his first
Major League starting role.

Greg - Superb Sid Cabinet ! I believe that is a 1 of 1 issue, right !?

Since Sid is well represented in this thread - Jim's Brown OM as well as Greg's cabinet, let me gently toss in a T Brand not shown in the thread yet...

Type 1 Coupon Sid :

I believe you're right Jeremy about the Sid Smith cabinet being 1 of 1 -- purchased it from Terry K. at the National last year -- he had a small grouping and says they are the only examples he's ever seen or heard of.
Your T213 is the first I've seen of Smith.

A lot of great cards in this thread and several that seem even better than their grade.
