Default Low grade cards that you like just as much as mid-grade:

I've been spending a lot of time lately enjoying the cards I own, which I don't do enough. I wanted an excuse to show some of my favorite cards.

This thread is for posting your favorite low grade cards that have great eye appeal, or you have a sentimental attachment to.

You have to love the card to post it here. If you ever plan to upgrade it, then you don't love it enough, and can't post it

The cards I'm posting are all from my favorite set, E95. These beauties are all crease-free and look like 5's or better in my opinion.
-Lord has a tiny spot of paper-loss on the bottom right of the back
-Wiltse has caramel stains, which don't bother me at all
-Doyle has a little dot of glue residue on the back

Wow; those are phenomenal examples. I would prefer those to less attractive specimens in more expensive holders in a blink.

I collect the same way; here are 11 cards with the lowly average grade of the group being "2."

Nice Mantle!! Probably the best looking "low grade" Mantle out there! I just picked this one up. I think it looks pretty darn good for a '2'....

I agree, especially considering it actually has the upper boarder when it seems the majority don't. Nice card!

Default I'll play

I've always loved the looks of these because they look much better than their technical grade. And another thing I admire about them is there is no paper loss

There are some awesome cards shown so far. I really dig low grade high eye appeal cards. Here are a couple of mine.

Dean, great Cobb. How did that only get a 2 ? Does it have back damage?

Thanks Sean. Clear glue residue on the back which is very difficult to see.

Default 1937 R314 Goudey Premiums Type 4 Joe & Type 5 Buddy

These were graded a long time ago, before PSA realized there were other issues of R314 besides ''1936'' ....

....Fortunately I see no real need to upgrade these which is good because finding these guys in a ''5'' or ''6'' would cause a missed car payment on the Park Avenue.

...it would appear that the large inviting blank backs of the fine/wide pens mid-thirties photo/cards and premiums and exhibits were considered perfect for noting batting averages and ERA's and trades and of course the owner's name and address and grade and school . We call it ''provenance'' ; graders call it '' A Two ''.

I call them fantastic buys that please the eye every bit as much (or more) than higher graded examples, while leaving much loot left over for other stuff Awesome cards.

Matt, I love seeing your collection. I hadn't seen that D304 Cobb before. That's one of my all-time favorites. I plan to pick one of those up sometime in the next 40 years That green Cobb is incredible, as is the Leach. Lots of awesome cards, thanks for posting guys!

Can't believe I forgot these T205s. And I had to slip in one non-sport.

I have long jocked Dean's SGC Green Cobb, but that T205 is fresh news to me-- such an amazing card. What a sick value. The edges are gorgeous and the white baseball is so clean-- no intruding red. That T205 Cobb is a much harder card to find in nice shape than one initially imagines.

Thx regarding the cards and yes on the Ruth back; here it is... Luckiest damage ever, as a centered example with no horizontal print line and an intact back would not have been within budget; and all I do is stare at the front of cards with blank or ad backs, as opposed to stat/bio backs.
