Default Need help identifying a 1909 Obak player

Below is a scan of a R. Williams 1909 Obak.

In 1909, there were 2 players with the last name of Williams playing for the San Francisco Seals.

Jimmy Williams played outfield, and Nick Williams played catcher, 1st, 3rd, and outfield...but no R. Williams played for the Seals.

Is it safe to assume that this card shows a catcher, and, therefore, actually shows Nick Williams?

I'm also interested in whether this card shows a catcher or is the player wearing a 1st baseman's glove?

Any feedback is greatly appreciated. I'm trying to determine whether I should pursue this card for my catcher collection.

Thanks in advance,

Patrick

It is Nick Williams, as his given name is Richard.

Default Catcher pose or Firstbaseman?

Jay,

Thanks for the quick response and link!

Any thoughts or whether the card shows a catcher or a 1st baseman?

Thanks again,

Patrick
