Default 1941-1942 PCL Christmas card

Has anyone ever seen anymore of these or have anymore information on this one? (other than the obvious). There weren't many cards produced in this time frame either. This one is about 8 x 10 and is different than most cards I own.....At worst I thought it interesting so am sharing....

Default Dan

Thanks...I thought it was neat too. Anytime I don't show a back it means it is blank and has no substantial writing on it. best regards

Very cool. Hal Turpin and Dick Gyselman two of my PCL Hall of Famers were on the 1942 team.

I see Gyselman, tallest guy in the back row.

Edit to say "Kewpie Dick" Barrett, another PCL Hall of Famer was also on the team.

Default thanks again

Thanks again and yes, this was on one of my searches on ebay. Even though I don't like the way ebay is currently run they are still the "Wal-Mart" of internet card buying places....

Leon, thanks for posting, it reminded me of a story my mother told me when I was younger.

My mother was active in sponsoring Cambodian and Laotian refugees in the mid 1970's to the 80's and we were living in Seattle at the time and thus most of the people she sponsored ended up there. Anyways, after the stadium was no longer in use and before they demolished it in 1979, apparently, several of the refugees she had sponsored had let her in on a secret that they were growing poppy plants in the old stadium to supplement their income.

Default Emil Sick left a legacy

There are several different Xmas cards put out by the Rainiers during Emil Sick's era. They tend to be multi-color, well designed, and high initial quality. Not surprising, quite a few have survived. Neat item...

I had a large pro multi-sport Christmas card collection, the cards sent to VIPs and often signed by team officials. Most were the standard smaller foldover kind, but one or two were 8x11 paper document.

Not near as fancy or nice as Leon's, but I always liked thought neat the below New York Islanders foldover card, as it has a genuine Kodak team photo tipped in.
