Default 1928 Star Player Candy Questions

Hi,

I picked up some 1928 star player candy singles. Each of the cards has the complete white border trimmed off so only the picture and the player name at the bottom is shown. I realize these cards are very difficult to find.

Any idea what commons would be worth in this condition of being trimmed. I am sending some into PSA to get graded at altered authentic, but they may not slab them as reading their website says some border is needed, but worth a try.

Any idea what a Ruth would be worth in this condition of being trimmed?

Thanks for your feedback. Matt

Matt,

It might be better to put this in the Net54baseball Vintage (WWII & Older) Baseball Cards & New Member Introductions:

http://www.net54baseball.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2

That said, with the borders trimmed off, the value may be around $20.00 a card if you can find a buyer.

A Ruth would be worth a lot even trimmed. It depends on the eye appeal but it could easily clear 5K.

Post some scans on the main board and you will get a lot of opinions. Sounds like a fun score, congrats.

This was moved to the front page from the BST. No doubt some of the cards will have good value even being trimmed.
