Default GAI Set Registry

Posted By: ErikV.

All,

It's been a little while since I last posted on the board. I wanted to pass along to everyone that GAI has expanded the number of sets on website registry. I believe they also accept other grading companies graded cards in their registry.

Regards,

ErikV.

Two pre-war baseball sets (with actual cards). Total of three registered cards. Not much interest so far.

A registry that accepts and combines GAI, SGC, and PSA is a great idea.

Default GAI Set Registry

I tried using there GAI registry but it would not let me in to add cards. The whole thing does not work and they should'nt have it up until it works properly. Looking at some of the ones that are up it lists the facts incorrectly, there are some 50's sets that are almost complete and it has it as less then 1%. I would not take much solice in it either because I don't think they verify that you actually have the cards. So you can basically post anything. I am sure that a scammer is going to catch on and list some sets of all 8's, 9's and 10's. And then he will try to sell it on Ebay by instructing the potential buyers to go and see it on the GAi website. I have seen people in the past direct you to the PSA registry. Does PSA have any way of knowing if the posts are legit or not, I have never tried using it. Hopefully Tony won't get any ideas.

The GAI Set Registry does in fact accept PSA, GAI and SGC cards. I believe a few of my PSA sets are up. Steve Rocchi called me up and asked if it was ok to post my sets. I said just do a few for now and was under the understanding that Merkel, Fogel and Louchios would also allow certain of their sets to be posted. That was 3 months or so ago and nothing seems to be happening.

I was really happy to see that they will accept all 3 companies. I have both PSA ans SGC cards in my T206 set. I was happy till I tried to list some.. What a mess.I managed to post 1 card before I gave up. Hope they fix it. Would be nice to list it. Not a high end set, all 2s,3s,4s and 5s. But I'm proud of it.

I too, had problems. I was going to register a 1966 Topps Hockey, (I only have the Orr Rookie graded) and it also wouldn't allow me to enter cards.

I have some PSA and SGC T-206s and I'll give that a shot. But I agree with those that the registry shouldn't be listed on their web, until it works. It's frustrating as I have a mixture of PSA/SGC/GAI graded sets and would like to someday publish them on a registry. Oh well, maybe some things aren't meant to be.

Even if the GAI registry works, won't it be dominated by PSA graded cards ala Jim Crandell.
