Default Babe Ruth signed baseball, way to date?

I picked up this single signed Ruth ball in an auction last night. The listing had it as a 1926/1927 signed ball. Is there a way to "date" it conclusively to this time period? Would be cool for me to know that it was signed during a relatively high point of his career if possible. Especially 1927.

Hopefully the pics show up, ever since photobucket stopped allowing linking on my account without a fee, I've had a hard time posting pics.

Its hard to see the official markings on the ball with the attached photos, but based on past research, Babe Ruth didnt use quotations around Babe much after 1927/1928. The I think this can be considered 1928 or earlier, but the baseball stampings/markings will give you a much better idea of exact dating.

Indeed tough to see the marking but am thinking ball is 1926-27 OAL ball. The quotation marks around Babe would date it to this time period as well. His signature did not change appreciably from 1926 to 1927 so that two year time period is likely the best you are going to get.

Thanks y'all. Once I get it in hand I'll try and take some better pics of the ball markings.

Accurate. Looks like a 1925-1928 autograph.
