Not a bad Ruth fake. Too bad they didn' have Shapries around in his day. Can't claim that fake, I never did one a jersey or a sharpie. Wish I had thought of doing fake Ruth's with a Sharpie, lol

I like the scan that shows the bat and autograph fit in the tube you get with them... Also sportscards plus authenticated the item? it also says sportscard(no S) plus twice on the document and theres no signature of the authenticator. Now thats not very professional, especially for a high profile item like this

PS its the same seller so they know their Ruth autographs

Which Dylan song is that from?
I am going to see him at the Beacon Theatre in NYC in April.

Whats interesting is the current high bidder's feedback. He has 1 negative. He refused to pay for a autographed babe ruth mini bat claiming it was fake!
Wonder if he will pay for this item? By the way, check out that Ruth bat, If THAT thing can stay up on ebay for the full term of the auction, anything can.

Cap, I'm not an expert, but produced enough fake Ruth autographs to know what will sucker a greedy person and that sig is good enough to sucker more than a few greedy people that don't know what they are looking at. And give the quaility of most Ruth fakes on eBay, this is one of the better looking ones but wouldn't fool a person if they have a modicome of knowledge about writing intruments and don't let greed blind them.

Jay,

I disagree.

The bottom line is that the better the Babe Ruth forgery looks, the more you'll get for it.

Basically the forger gets one chance on an item. He has to bat 1.000% to get the most out of it. Eight letters (BABE RUTH) carefully signed in another man's hand in one fast swift motion. Make it look real! If you go eight for eight, you could probably fake out a legitimate authenticator. Even the worst Babe Ruth forgery in the world will garnish a few scattered bids because 'suckers' are all over the place and I bet a misspelled signature (BABE ROOTCH) could bring at least $50.

You produced Babe Ruth autographs? Does that mean you are/were a forger?

Not a forger int he sense I did it to rip off people. I'd get bored at big shows, buy a new AL ball, practice my Ruth sig a bit, then sign the ball in ballpoint pen. Then one of my buddies would try to find some greedy dealer to buy the ball. He'd give me the cash, I'd go back to the dealer acting like I am looking for a Ruth ball and heard he had one. Then explain to him all the problems with ball, then give him his money back. To say that I pissed off a few dealers with this stunt would be an understatement, but it could have been worse. I could have kept their money. Every fake I ever created I got back and destroyed, so none of my work should be floating aorund out there.

I learn to fake sigs by faking teachers sigs for hall passes in Jr High and High School

Jay,

Wow! You are just as irritating in real life, as you are on the board?

I think the first thing you should say to these people buying your' bored homework' is 'IT'S A BRAND NEW BASEBALL!'

It was always the first thing I would point out. Amazing how greed blinds people. And I'm just irritating to the people that don't get the joke

As the seller says: I have a "AUTHNENTIC CERTIFIED PAPER THAT PROVES IT AUTHENITICITY". Just as good as DNA ain't it?

Richard,

It may be the third worst. You will have to see the Empire State Building Postcard signature. It shows up about once or twice a year, but it is awesome.

The second worst has to be the Ruth signed baseballs that were sold on eBay last year that I believe you have posted on your website. Classics.

It's amazing what people are pumping out. There is a Ruth signed ball that is on eBay now was signed with a ball point pen. Sheesh!

Does anyone know what Jay's fingers look like?

It could be him trying to peddle it to the second monkey on the Darwin chart.
