There is just something about a 1 of ? Mickey Cochrane, the old Hooker of Lynchburg, and a headless Heinie Wagner that appeals to me. Something about the stories they could tell. "Patina". It's the same with my old, wood tube radios that, incidentally, all still work. Not much to listen to on AM, but there is still stuff on short-wave.

It's good to see that sometimes even Lionel Carter had to take what he could find in some issues.

Back when his collection came to auction, I remember reading/hearing that Lionel had a group of extras he had set aside for trading, left over from the days when he was actively collecting. I imagine a large percentage of the really low graded cards with Lionel Carter on the label were from this trader stash, because as many of us know, Mr. Carter was quite the stickler for condition.

I always like to trot out this T216 Kotton of Evers whenever the ugly show comes to town.

This looks WAY worse in hand! I'm not quite sure what is holding the side panels on...

Might be rough but completed my set . Coincidently swapped 2 other beaters for this one. Thought it was fitting to mention due to the thread topic.

I got this one, and several other with similar, less life-threatening wounds, from Net54 member Paul S (who sadly hasn't posted in some time now), and he got them from the famous/infamous dealer Goody Goldfadden in the 1960's (if I remember correctly).

In my opinion, the midsection is one of the least important areas of the body to be depicted on a baseball card.

Nice cards, guys!
Sometimes, as seen already, we take what we can get...

This Indianapolis Brewing card of Eppa Rixey showcases the position of Rixey's left arm during his pitching follow through.

Flesh wound!

here is another although this could almost be scrap... (I think scrap and proof are used way too much in the hobby)
