Default Hockey Board ?

While this would not be for me; I believe the stumbling point on having a Hockey Card board on Net 54 was that they already had one. Since we're no longer on Net 54 and have worked out most of the kinks; do you think we'll have a hockey board here in the future?

Just curious and noticed this today.

There is a very good hockey board on Net54 already. I frequent that board fairly regularly. They are pretty vigilant over there, so I don't know that there is that big a need for a new hockey board, but I'm sure if Leon did start one it would get at least as much traffic as the golf board does.

Here is a link to the hockey board (great place w/ great hockey collectors):

Rhett yes it is a ok board but they don't post very often and I think a Hockey board here would do good.

I read that board every once in awhile. A little slow. Not sure how one would do over here but I would participate. Hope it's not taboo to post a Hockey card here but hey, the thread does say Hockey in the title.

It's not taboo to post a hockey card over here....The reason we didn't start one before is that we didn't want to ruin someone else's network54 chat board. That sentiment remains today but if there is enough interest it could be considered.....heck, we could take our least frequented forum on this board (golf or basketball) and just make a /hockey out of it.......I will go check out the other board, contact it's owner (maybe) and go from there...regards

Ralph, the Bauer card is from the 1939-40 V301 O-Pee-Chee set. It is blank on the reverse side.

Rhett is correct and he knows his Hockey. Since it is not taboo, here is a little "Old Time Hockey".

I wouldn't want to rock the boat (or train) with hockey posts

Max, the 1928-29 V128-2 Paulins Candy is one tough set.

I love the "old-time hockey" (and Slap Shot the Movie).

Here is another tough one, V31 Dominion Chocolate

Old Hockey and Lacrosse (don't forget a lot of old hockey players also played lacrosse) cards are great fun and the Net54 Vintage Hockey board has a lot of good people on it, with less than optimum posting habits. I think a link like the Non Sports link would work just fine.

here are a few of my Lacrosse cards (featuring Hockey players)...

these two HOFers shouldn't need an intro.

Joseph Cattarinich was one of the founders of the Montreal Canadians hockey team, and is in the hckey HOF.

Charlie Quarrie was the General Manager and owner of the Toronto St. Pat's (later the Toronto Maple Leafs).

Default Gordie Howe Poster

Love to show my signed poster. Mr. Howe signed a puck for my young son and then took a little time to play keep away with him. What a Gentleman!

(Posted before but) It's important to be wearing a warm sweater, when looking at hockey cards

Ralph, it's difficult to say, because while I would estimate the price would be around $100-150 or less (depending on condition), what is going to prove difficult is actually finding one for sale. This seems to be the case with many pre-war hockey cards. Once you find that card you have been searching for the price will generally not be astronomical, but finding one is 9/10ths of the problem.
