Stahl Meyer Mantle on eBay...Is this fake?

Guy claims he owned a card store and card was in storage for 30 years. This card just seems to good to be true. Any help would greatly be appreciated. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1953-STAHL-M...=item415efa71a

He also has a PSA 8 1951 Bowman Mantle RC listed. He only has 23 feedback and thats mostly buying $1 cards. Seems like a scam. Any thoughts?

Aren't those cards oversized? I don't have any 53s, so maybe they were smaller than the later ones? Maybe they make larger holders, but it would appear the card is more like a standard Topps 1957-Present size.

Can't claim to be an expert, but my gut tells me it isn't right. Card just looks a light "light" compared to the one or two I've seen before.

The old adage comes to mind: "if it seems too good to be true . . . " Pair that with a FB rating of 23. Nuff said.

Hes got a PSA 8 Mantle 51 Bowman that was sold at Bussineau Auction in 2010 and Goodwin in 2009. He might have stole the scans

You may be on the something there. I would stay away, the card's coloring does seem to be washed out.

Again, if you know you may have a valuable item, get the card graded. Enough said.

I see the listing ended. At one point, I thought I saw where it was in the $8K range, so maybe someone backdoor'd it.

That card is a pathetic fake. The color is wrong, the cut is wrong.

Yes they are oversized, same size as the 54 and 55 issues.

Guy was an absolute crook. I told him I was at the shriners show and will be passing thru North Providence on my way home bc he wanted to sell off ebay. I offered him 25,000 cash for both cards and i will meet him to hand him the cash and he would hand me the cards. He made an excuse of having dinner with his inlaws 3 hours before we were to meet. He stole the scans and tried to portray them as his own.

If he stole the scan of the Stahl Meyer that is hilarious because he didn't even know enough to steal a scan of the real card.
