Default Two Detroit Rookies

Two additions to a Detroit Mt. Rushmore of rookies. (I realize one is woefully out of place on this thread. Sorry.)

Default Signed Grove Goudey

Am super thrilled about adding this gorgeous signed card to my collection. I don't normally go after the signed Goudeys, but I have a soft spot in my heart for Lefty Grove, who has always been one of my favs. I've been looking out for a clean signature on the Goudey for years.

Who are your others? Bobby Layne or Barry Sanders? Dave Bing or Isiah Thomas?

This just arrived today - been wanting to find one for years, but budget, other interests, and timing always seemed to get in the way

Pretty solid for the grade, which 2.5 is on point

pretty spectacular in my opinion! Nice clarity/contrast on that OJ (despite the grade). I'd prefer one of these over an EX example w/ light contrast!

Well thanks guys! What did draw me to this card was the same clarity I pursue on action shot photographs. And as you can probably guess the grade is due to back damage.

This is very similar to the type of Old Judge I'm looking to acquire at some point. BEAUTIFUL front, phenomenal contrast/clarity, but a damaged back to drive the price down.

As previously stated by other members, sensational pickup. Merry Christmas!

Couldn't resist grabbing this T207 off of eBay at a decent price. Now have 3 Tom Needham T207s...guess I'm a bit of a hoarder these days.

These W517's are really cool. Had to pick up Ruth's counterpart. Hard to imagine but Gehrig had 184 RBI's in 1931. Ridiculous.

Thanks Jim!

Great pickups, Cole. Those T206s have strong eye appeal.

This Crandall I have been hunting since the 24th of August, and it finally turned up at a price I could afford. Jumbo borders and oversized cards are always up my alley

The Tenney is another card I have been looking for, but could never find. Mr. Scott G offered me this one at a price I couldn't say no to. Thank you Mr. G!
Merry Christmas everyone!

Do you have any idea when this photo was taken or when the caption was written? I'm curious because the Tigers didn't play New York in the Series, they played St. Louis. The Cardinals passed the Giants on the final weekend.

Got 2 cards for Christmas. The Howell is from my uncle and the Brain from my dad. Very blessed to have family that respects my hobby interests.

I'm not sure if I agree with Dean's Cards' grade on the Howell (I think it's more of a 2), but oh well. Still a great card/gift.

Great cards, but just a reminder that Hal Chase, although a great player and interesting subject to collect, is not a Hall of Famer.

December has been a banner month. First Dave Davenport and now Mal Eason!
Been looking for those two for about 25 years. Now what to do with the 15 other teams. Just love these mini W601's

Seems 2016 is ending in a flurry or Red Borders for me. This is a big one for finishing off my Series 5 set. Finally landed it! Thanks Matt for the great transaction.

Kyle, Jason, thank you for the comments. It was a great 2016 for my collection and I hope that was the case for you gentlemen as well. Jason, I like the Mayo. B/W cards are kind of my thing and I could see me jumping on that set if/when the Red Borders slow for me. Great pickups everyone!
