So Mark, did you stumble on that Kelly at the midnight card show on December 1st? Did the UPS delivery guy show up at 1 am?

Finally arrived yesterday from tardy Heritage. This is truly a 1 of 1: single cards for each player in 104-card set for very first baseball card game, 1904, were made for the prototype--and the game never produced. And they only did the NL before quitting. I guess they were on sheets and then hand cut.

Cool card and story. You realize it's now your life's duty to find the other 103 and reunite them, right?

And to think that two of those backs had Wagner fronts, wow! And uncatalogued on the 350 series! Pick-up of the year! LOL!

An upgrade for my Dockman set. I had the Seigle in a PSA 4, but when this 6 came up I couldn't pass.

I grabbed one of the E96 cards last night as well - there were some nice ones available.

I'll take my 2's any day of the week which look like this - downgraded due to the touch of paper loss on the back (in Rossman's name)...

Default Selectively active again...

It's been some time since I bought vintage, but with my T207 tuffie in November, and now my key card for the T202 Cubs team set here in Dec (Thanks Joe!), I need to once again be careful of diving into the deep end!
I seriously need to update my website...
This one was love at first sight.

Congrats Jason, that's as a sweet a 2.5 as there is! I'm pretty sure I was the underbidder when it was up for auction on LOTG a few weeks back.

Scott- I like the Brown too, congrats. Had I not already had one I would have been busy bidding on it
If you factor out the cost to have the cards graded by SGC, the 20s and 30s were selling for about $20-35 each, not too shabby for cards with decent eye appeal.

Jason, that's a hot Tinker, Evers and Chance T202. Love at first site, indeed! Sensational eye appeal.

Wazoo, nice Hooker!

Great start to December, everybody. I will be living vicariously through you all this month, as I'm looking to get my knee scoped. So please, keep it up!

Default USS Cleveland vs. Waseda University 1908

Thanks to some fellow collectors I have learned a bit about the postcard pictured below.

Translation on the front reads:

USS Cleveland vs. Waseda University Big Baseball Match Commemoration (Victory Waseda)

"The 2 cancellation dates are from the reign of Emperor Meiji (Hirohito's grandfather). The date on the postmark in the middle of the card is
October 7, 1908 - the 41st year of the reign of Meiji. The postmark on the stamp is October 4th, so 2 different post offices cancelled the card. The addressee was in Tokyo."

Also, I can zoom in and read USS Cleveland on the Jersey of the player standing in the middle of the field. The player getting tagged I can read "eda" on the jersey.
