I can't win a baseball card in Mastro to save my life but I am death on golden age comics
Only appearance of Superman and Batman in All-Star Comics (Justice Society of America) and a great anti-Nazi book also. Someone overlooked this lot because the book on the left sells for what the lot went for. Nice to get a deal every once in a while.

Congrats Alan,

You are now only the third owner that the card has ever had in its lifetime!

Regards,

Scott

The Tim Keefe and Dan Brouthers are for sale! When they arrive, I will list them on the b/s/t with front / reverse scans and prices.

Just got one (Lot 25, the Tatto Orbit Near Set)
I am really surprised how cheap this lot went considering what cards have been going for on ebay in the same shape.

I really tried for (Lot 1007 1911-1912 T201 and T202 SGC-Graded Collection (65) Including Many HOFers) If anyone here won that lot I would love to get a shot at some of the cards from it.

Nice Rhoads by the way Alan I was top bidder on it for days at $840 I know that was wishfull thinking.

Trevor..Thanks..I was happy to win the Rhoads..need 8 to complete the set.
Oddly enough I also wanted the t201/t202 lot and almost topped the bid but held off.
The Tattoo Orbit set was my consignment and I also thought it would do better..Congrats
Alan

I don't believe the Bubble has burst, but I was very surprised how low some of the lots closed for.

Alan- Had I not begun and completed the Tattoo Orbit set this past year I would have been all over it. I don't think the bubble has burst at all, everything is just a matter of timing. When Brian McQ, Steve M, I and several others were going from scratch on the 1911 Zeenuts, prices skyrocketed. Once 4 or 5 of us got down to 10-20 cards left (many are the same ones needed by all), prices plummeted. When the prices for the 11s fell, the prices for the 12s, 13s, 14s and 15s started eroding as well.
Just a matter of timing. I remember your E98 set which a group of us bought a while back. Those cards if placed now on ebay and sold separately, would bring twice as much, easily.
Bob

I saw so many signed baseballs from the 1920s and 30s with a hand full of HOFers sell for $400-$1500 ! You could hardly read some of the signatures, but still... I wish I had won some of those

i finally won something from mastro, it's about time, i won the 1937 opc set for only $6872 plus the juice, if my memory serves me correctly the last one went for 40k plus the juice but it was a higher graded set, only my dickey and grove grade higher than the last set, i can't believe how cheap everything went for that i was bidding on (13 lots total), it was like a fire sale to say the least.

Alan,

Ah that's why I won the Tattoo Orbits lot, it was yours

Are all your T3's SGC graded?
I was think about grading my set and the extras. How much room would you think it would take up and how heavy would it be?

I think Bob is right. Most of the big spenders have there sets complete or are almost there. I still think the best way to buy anything at auction is a "Near Set" Sorry it was yours, not sorry it went so cheap. Lipsets next

Trevor

Trevor makes an excellent point, a "near set" is usually a very solid buy.

I placed my normal ridiculously low bids (about 50%-60% market) and actually won a lot. I was also surprised at many of the prices.

Trevor..most of my T3's are raw..I am thinking about just grading the Hall of Famers.
My t9's are all graded and I can tell you they weigh a ton!

I ended up with the Cobb paperweight. What do you think it will grade? Wink Wink.

I know, some will be horrified by what was done to it, but I thought it would look good on my desk, and it will probably be the only Cobb I ever get.

"Are all your T3's SGC graded? . . .How much room would you think it would take up and how heavy would it be?"
One T3 player set, 80 slabbed, 20+/- raw weighs in at 48 pounds on the bath scale. Some seat-of-the-pants algebra yields an answer of around 60 pounds. As for room needed, one book box would do nicely.

(I knew that engineering degree would come in handy someday).
