Default Who bought the PSA 8 T206 Honus Wagner card?

Posted By: HalleyGator

Did the word ever get out as to who paid $1.25 million for the PSA 8 T206 Honus Wagner card on EBay two year ago???

I thought I remembered hearing that Tom Candiotti was the buyer, but I could be confusing this with some other PSA card.

Anyone know? PSA says that the true owner has registered the card in their set registry, so I am curious as to who this owner is...

http://www.psacard.com/new_set_registry/display_cards.chtml?rsetid=2997&alltime=yes&rank=1&tied=0&requesttimeout=9999

Damn nice collection...

Just so you are up to date on board slang, Halley, the term 'trimmed', is not longer used. The phrase is now "had the dog groomed."

Candiotti giving up his PSA 8 Plank card anytime soon!

If you ever talk to Brian, he's got some great stories. More than one of his PSA 9 Hall of Fame cards came from his own submissions -- raw cards he bought over a decade ago!

Elliot:

I'm sure Brian would love to own that card. And seeing Candiotti's past history, I can easily see him selling it - for the right price. Heck, he has played the "buy from x auction house and sell in y auction house" game.
