Great looking Gehringer. Much nicer than the number on the flip.

Thanks! It has a SMALL crease through the face area, but it's hardly noticeable, especially in a picture. It also has a small stain-type mark on the top, but again, hardly noticeable.

I have been taught to buy the card, not the grade. VERY happy with this, especially for the price.

The last 2 words appear to me to be "Candy Co." The "C" looks the same to me as the "C" in Collins. Perhaps it is "Collins Hershey Candy Co."

Val, I think you may be right, I went with the Pa. theme and "read" Reading into it.

Default T207 - Double milestone pickup.

Haven't posted since spring, pretty much no activity... this was an accidental pickup that hit two milestones:

* 100th different T207 Napoleon back
* Completes the T207 Cincinnati front/back runs.

Not much to see, just a serendipitous pickup.

It says Collins-Hencke Candy Co. (part of the "Co." at the end is cut off so it looks funny)

They were the successors to Collins-McCarthy Candy Co.

Prior to any Zeenut cards it was actually the Getleson-Collins Co.

Some time prior to 1911 it had become the Collins-McCarthy Candy Co (I have a 1911 Zeenut w/ the C-McC back stamp and later was Collins-Hencke

Cool Pickups, Aaron!

I also purchased both of these earlier this year (though the Cobb was a '5')

Great minds think alike?

Default Just in under the wire

Chris Bland (the-Illini) was scanning cards last week to list for sale when he noticed Howe's stamp on the back of this Gandil. Chick is now #296 in the rebuilt collection. Thanks, Chris.

Ed: If there's ever a Collectors Hall of Fame you are going in on the first ballot. The resurrected Howe McCormick T206 collection is beyond astounding.
