Default Would anyone like to trade/buy my 1917 Boston store Joe jackson

Hi

I am looking to get an early Babe ruth.
Would anyone like to buy my 1917 Boston Store SGC 70 Joe Jackson or trade for it? Ideally for an early Ruth but will consider other offers

That looks like Hughie Jennings next to WaJo, and Tris Speaker seated between the top and bottom rows.

Default Best of both worlds

Here is my cup of tea as it relates to Joe Jackson memorabilia. It satisfies my photo and card lust and is insanely rare. It is a Type 1 Charles Conlon photo used for his playing days w514 baseball card. It is an amazing piece and one of the very best known original Type 1 photos of Joe Jackson.

Great photo of Joe. Always enjoy seeing the ones used to make cards even though I don't collect them any longer. My budget just couldn't be stretched further than the card habit in the long run.

Understand... I started collecting photos because my budget at the time couldn’t even support pr/f graded cards i wanted. Here is another cool JJ in my collection from 1919 used for an important piece of memorabilia(notebook). It was shot by another legendary lensman, Paul Thompson.

Why should I not be surprised you snatched that one up Ben. A sensational Joe Jax image that found its rightful home!

I have often wondered about the extreme value of Joe Jackson cards. If there had been no Black Sox and Jackson had kept playing, one could reasonably assume he had 5-8 years left in his career at some fair high value. He probably gets 3000 hits (although not a lock, since he was 33 in 1920, which is not that young). He hits into the live ball era, which might morph his stats a little. My guess is that when all is said and done, he probably has numbers that look similar to Tris Speaker's, with a few more triples and a few less doubles. While Speaker cards are not dirt cheap, they certainly don't command Joe Jackson value, or even close. Is that about what we would expect for Jackson if he had a normal end to his career?

Imagine if Cobb and Speakers bans held up too? Cobbs cards are already at the height of the hobby. But tack on a ban too and what would the cost be for a Green Portrait?

Still Got the Pinkerton T5 SGC 45. It is the primary in my collection and I am enjoying it unless some blows me away with an offer or is used as part of a trade for a quality card
