Default Stay away from?

I was on Ebay tonight and I noticed this t206 Cobb card. Seems kind of sketchy and I don't think it's legit. Opinions?

Hey Waz,

That's definitely a reprint. The caption is all wrong and the color is not right either.

Best,

AndyH

Edited to add: I forgot to mention it came from "Grandpa" too and he says it's legit. Must Be.

Geez the grandfather tale, the I don't know if it's real AND I need money because I am leaving to defend our country trifecta, the only thing missing is...hell I cannot even think of a bogus cliche he missed.

The description sounds as if he's making a joke. Why do you need money before you go to Marines boot camp? I hear they provide free clothes, lodging and food. If he said he needed money to put his dog through college, that might have been more believable.

#1 irule in buying: If the seller doesn't say it's authentic, pass. As with many scammers, no where does this guy say he's offering an authentic T206.
#1 rule in selling: If you don't know the item is authentic, you shouldn't be selling it.

What exactly does this part of the description mean?

"it shows vintage which to me shows age."

"Up for sale is a 1933 Goudey Babe Ruth #149 Rookie Card with a Book Value of $5000.00 but in my opinion that is when the card is graded and with a high number of grade? this card was given to me by a co-worker who owed me money and decided to give me this instead of money. he claims it is 100% AUTHENTIC but i see there are alot of fakes or what collectors call REPRINTS. so i did some research and found out that Authentication Companies claim that the 1933-1934 Goudey Baseball Cards "INK" seeps through the card if it is real. so if you look at the pictures above you will see that the red ink is seeping through the back of the card showing proof of authenticity? im not for certain though. thats why im going to let you bidders decide. i will list this card at $100.00 and in my opinion that is probably the lowest priced Babe Ruth Rookie Card on EBAY!?!?!? Also i dont need this card since i am more of a Military Antique person. Happy Bidding and Good Luck!!!!!"

I know Beckett lists it that way, but I hate them calling any 1933 Ruth a rookie. It is just ridiculous and so is that reprint by the way.
