Matt, you're demented -- but also made a nice catch! These scammers need to make a better effort in my opinion.

He's fishing for a sucker. He thinks no one will notice exhibit A/B, since he changed his ebay ID after he purchased the Cobb. Good catch Matt.

The best would be for Stu Dazzo to make an appearance so this guy has to eat the final value fees.

Matt- It's amazing you caught that. Stealing scans is the lowest of the low. I hate these people.

Barry - he bought the card (although he did steal the scan as well).

Bob - I don't know what the right course of action is here, but contacting the seller or ebay would, at best, result in the listing being canceled. We all know there is no way ebay would ban a seller for this. More damaging to the seller would be if somone actually won it for a lot of money, so he has to pay final value fees, but they buyer doesn't pay.

I love the fake ignorance: "I am not too familiar with the card, but know that it has a high book value of $6000". Reminds me of Phil Hartman on SNL doing his Caveman lawyer summation:

"Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, I'm just a caveman. I fell on some ice and later got thawed out by some of your scientists. Your world frightens and confuses me! Sometimes the honking horns of your traffic make me want to get out of my BMW.. and run off into the hills, or wherever.. Sometimes when I get a message on my fax machine, I wonder: "Did little demons get inside and type it?" I don't know! My primitive mind can't grasp these concepts. But there is one thing I do know - when a man like my client slips and falls on a sidewalk in front of a public library, then he is entitled to no less than two million in compensatory damages, and two million in punitive damages. Thank you."

Appears he bought the card, cracked it out, and has failed to disclose that fact in an attempt to resell the card. Or am I missing something?

His description does state that "this card is completely authentic". Just like the grade it had.

Sent the seller this question:

Dear *thekingofcards*,

Hello, I've been searching for this card. But being pricey, would you offer a refund if deemed altered by a grading company? Thanks in advance for your reply.

his reply:(he hasn't posted this Q&A in the listing)

Sorry but all sales are final. Im going to be selling alot of cards from the lot i purchased and dont want to have to deal with returns. Sorry but thanks for asking.

I'm still holding out for Stew Dazzo to bid $3000 and stick this guy with the fees; if we ask too many question he probably will just end the listing, and re-appear next week as a different user with a more thought out plan.

Steve and Leon now have fancy mechanical and emotive icons..... The Flintstones have been invited to the Jetson's for dinner. I believe somewhere a snowball has just started rolling down a hill....

That would be great to stick this scum seller with Ebay's fees. But doesn't ebay refund the final value fees, once the seller documents the "no sale"?

As a seller, I have twice dealt with renegging bidders who never paid for the respective items. Each time, I simply filed a "non-paying dispute" (or whatever Ebay calls it) and my fees were immediately refunded.

Also... for those of us much newer to this board... I've figured out that Stew P. Dazzo is a false alias who bids on bogus pieces on Ebay. But how does it work? Is there just one phantom guy who bids, with no intention of paying? If so, how does "Stew" remain in good enough standing with Ebay to retain his ability to bid?

Thanks in advance, for explaining!

Mark - Stew Dazzo appears out of the darkness and works silently - there is much mystery surrounding the great Stew P Dazzo and any moral certainly could not begin to explain how he does what he does. (I don't know)

Regarding the final value, I have never been down this path, but I believe there would be a dispute once the item ends in which the buyer would have to justify why he didn't pay, at which time, ebay could see what was going on and take appropriate action. I would imagine that ebay, having already rendered their services, would not be inclined to refund anything to the seller if it was shown he was acting incorrectly.
