Default History of topps sets from the 1950's and 1960's

Does anyone know anything about Topps sets from this era coming in a vendor type package in a lime green box. My uncle has one and it says tcg brooklyn 32. its a complete set not a vending box of 500 cards or so. Anyone of my forum members "experts" on how sets were sold.

1959 was the first year Topps were sold in sets, 1951-58 had to be put together card by card. 1959 and up could be purchased as a complete factory set.
