Amazing pair of BL 460s! When you are ready to kick the habit, give me a call.

Hi John,

Thanks. I'm really excited that it came out looking so great. I have a local framer that does a great job. It's amazing to watch their machine cut a matt.

Default Couple of pickups

Here are three very different pickups! The Bagwell was for my "Possible Future HOF RC Collection". The Marquard for my HOF RC Collection, and the Lections for my Lections set.

Thanks Trae.

I have not seen one either....I would make sure it is in fact a blank back and not a skinned Cobb as well. Many blank back T206's are not much more than T206's that have been skinned.

Where did the card come from just curious?

Cheers,

John

I owned this card, traded it off with others and always regretted losing it. After traveling through a couple of hands, it is mine again Now it's off to SGC for a cross-over. Thanks Dan Mc for the deal.

It's off to SGC tomorrow. Fairly certain it will grade A based on experience and other knowledgeable collector's opinions. I didn't really want to get into a "is it authentic" discussion so if it turns into that, I'll probably just pull the picture and edit my post. Thanks for the interest, though. I love this board and wanted to share my excitement!

Good stuff. Not sure you took my post right etc? But as fairly knowledgeable collector myself I was just offering up a possible pit fall to watch for and commenting on the card. Wasn't looking for a debate.

Gotcha. I mean no disrespect. I've read your posts and appreciate your contribution to the board. I also appreciate the note that some "Blank back" cards are actually skinned cards.

Thanks,

Jason

Pick-ups from the Philly show...

Always wanted an Orange Border for the Wagner collection. Almost picked up the Detroit team as well, but it had significantly more paper loss on front...

A couple of 1940's snapshots of an aging Babe (cue ZZ Top -Girls go crazy 'bout a sharp dressed man)...

Group of T206s...

Default Raw cards

Nice pickups and presentation, Mike.

That stack of raw t206s made me drool. Very cool. It makes me imagine what a kid's collection looked like back in the day, stored in a cigar box.

Frank Wakefield sent me a very interesting book about the life and times and demise of Ed Delehanty which I am just a few pages shy of finishing. That OJ therefore resonates very nicely. Outstanding card!

Default This completes my E98 Evers!

Thanks Josh (JK) for this beautiful Evers. Love the rich orange color on this one.

Oh, Scott R., nothing wrong with being a low budgett collector. We all collect what we love mixed with what we can afford. I think that Cracker Jack is a sweet card with really vibrant colors. Congratulations on it!

I understand completely, Tim. It's just after seeing an Ed Delehanty, Ty Cobbs, Christy Mathewsons, etc....I just had to throw that out there. I do enjoy collecting my [pre war] vintage Boston Red Sox, even though my pickups may not be as extravagant as others.

Appreciate the comment though. The Cracker Jack is a beaut in person, the red background really pops! Great E98 Evers as well, that set is very neat with the black and white photos on the colored backgrounds.

Default great stuff so far

Great stuff so far guys. It's not about the budget it's about enjoying what you are doing.

Scott R- On that Cracker Jack...that is a neat pose. Many of us collect catcher poses as their gear is really neat looking. I have types of several series' cards in my collection where the pose is of a catcher. This one didn't have any catchers. Thanks to a fellow board member for it.

Default 1909 Carl Lewis Obak

This 1900 Carl Lewis T212-1 Obak arrived safe and sound yesterday morning after a rough trip from Texas. One edge of the card was trapped under the SGC black insert. Luckily, I always crack out the cards, and put them in a nice screwdown holder.

Thanks again Leon and Scott (B & L Auctions)

Thanks for the kudos on the E221. I am sure the seller did have some postpartum sadness, Jeff, but the check he will be getting should help with that somewhat. Yes, it's my 3rd and I am very happy to add it to my collection. They don't come around every day.

Hi Jason,

I have not been to the Mansfield MA show in a few years now. When I used to go, all the dealers were selling newer cards. Is there more T-Card offering at this show now? If so, I need to check it out.

Thanks & nice pickup
