Default What is your favorite back?

I am not a collector of cards for their backsides; however, Ted's recent post of the Carolina Brights Chase on another thread reminded me that there are some neat ones out there, and I can see why they are sought after.

So I would be interested to put it to the Board:
What is your all-time favorite card back design amongst pre-war cards? and why? (design, scarcity, just cuz it's your card, etc)
Post pics if you got 'em!

I will cast the first vote with T206 Carolina Brights - (really like the card Ted, thanks for posting)

Barry - the back is always better than the front.

So Jay is obviously the winner, hands down. And there are oh so many one liners that can be said.....butt.......getting back to the topic I like this one as I like the rarity and the red ....I have always thought about doing the cue tip and water thing to the piece of dirt at the top...but never have....

My favorite back is the T206 Drum, both for its rarity and because I like the purple print. Purple is my favorite color.

I'll keep this G rated and rather Mello.... I have to say the Mello Mints are my favorite. I have yet to own one, but I have them to be rather ornate-like and aesthetic pleasing. After you stare at T206 backs all day/everyday, seeing the Mellos is awesome!

Being one of the worst spellers in English history, I have always enjoyed these two:

T211, as mentioned above, a great back, but, at least they spelled Base Ball correctly ..........

[linked image]

.......... and would hate to be the final proof reader to sign off on the mis-spelling of the Company's (Khedivial) name ............

I have to second Jimi's vote -- Mello-Mint back by far.
Honourable mentions go to Red Cross and 1911 Obaks.

Regards,

Richard.

Not "accidently", ole buddy.....I guess you are "bustin" me, however......

The 1910 Coupon cards were printed at American Lithographic concurrently with other White Border
T-cards (that Burdick has classified as T206's). Therefore, until some one convinces me otherwise,
I firmly believe that these Coupon's are the 16th T-brand in the so-called T206 set. Coupon Tobacco
was part of the ATC monopoly.

Burdick was great in classifying every piece of cardboard; but, he missed the "Louisana Shrimp" boat
on these Coupon cards.
