Leon,

Do you have the full run of that publication?

I do, just picked it up (had a full run of copies previously.) Lew and I chatted about it very briefly this morning. He has always been a big help to me (and the hobby) in collecting endeavors.

Does that mean you have the complete run without any missing issues (1-50)? I think there's a 5A and 6A along with the regular 5 and 6.

I believe you indicated that 50 wasn't published so that would mean a run of 1-49. Do you have any dupes?

I still have mine from the eighties. I'm going to dig them up tonight.

1985 such a different world. What we were thought were unacceptable conflicts of interest in those days today would be just shrugged aside.

The whole thing with SCD was because they, as a publication, tended to truly dislike the east coast and the Midwest was their strong hold.

Would the show in 1986 had been better than Arlington TX. I don't think so but I don't know but in terms of the concept of the National trying the Southwest was a better idea

I rteally enjoy seeing these old price lists and those look like they would be alot of fun to own. Never had the pleasure of talking to or dealing with Lew but he from what ever one says seems like a hobby legend.

Lew was a hobby giant during his time. Not only did he have encyclopedic knowledge of cards, he was a gifted writer who could present his research, and views, in an interesting way. All his content was self generated, unlike later publications which needed to rely on the kindness of others to do their research.

I have the complete run, there is an issue #50, January 1994.
I have issue 6A, I don't think there is an issue 5A. Issue 5 is spring 1986, issue 6 is Summer 1986. Issue 6a is Summer Supplement 1986 ,

There is no issue 49.

There are supposed to be 51 different issues in the complete run.

There are 50 issues, but that includes 6A, there is no issue 49 that I know of.

Joe.
