Default REA - Low to No bids

Not that REA needs any "help", but a few of my consignments do. While I have several items that I consigned to REA, I wanted to point out a few that have been, thus far, overlooked (with only 1 or no bids). Both of these cost me significantly more than the current bid. Both are also the earliest known images for each player/executive.

1908-09 Homestead HS Team Cab w/ Cum Posey (the only man elected to both the baseball HOF and the basketball HOF):

1909 Leland Giants Negro League Program w/ Rube Foster (cover) and team photo w/ Pete Hill on inside:

Default Zeenut Sam Crawford & Frank Chance...

Following Derek's lead, if anyone is looking for Zeenut cards of "Wahoo" Sam Crawford or Frank Chance, here they are:

https://bid.robertedwardauctions.com...e?itemid=49800

Sam Crawford Zeenut cards are few and far between.

Default Devil’s Advocate

OK. I understand guys, but playing devil’s advocate, if some of us are high bidders on these lots, now we’re going to take a hit. An item should sell itself. Brian has done a terrific job marketing REA, I don’t think every consgnor has to jump in on the final day and post things like this. Just my 2c.

Each of these two items got exactly one bid. The Posey Cab was definitely lost in the shuffle. You couldn’t see Posey’s name in the online catalog because it was too far into the title and that text was missing when scrolling through. That’s a pretty important piece of info. $1k + juice is about 20-25% of what it sold for in Hunt.

Congrats to the lone bidder of that item. The other sold for 30% of what i paid and 25% of its final price from Hake’s.

As for my other items I consigned, I’m generally pleased. I just felt these two needed a boost. Clearly my post didn’t help, and I’m not at all surprised.

If you knew you were going to take a bath on some big ticket items, please tell me you wouldn’t do the same in the off chance that you could get one more bidder into the fray. It takes two to tango! These items were done at 12PM EST, not 12AM. Sad.

Derek: There is nothing wrong with promoting your auction listings here. This is why there is an "Ebay, Auction and Other Venues Announcement" forum. Knowing a consignor is a member of this forum may generate additional bids. Unfortunately it didn't work out for those specific items but hopefully you made out overall.

Frank: I appreciate your opinion but completely disagree. Not "every consignor" posts here. Just some members. Not all items sell themselves. Brian does a great job promoting the bigger pieces but others get minimal love in the catalog. My two cents.
