Advertising on the board

I haven't publicly said too much since the first thought of banner ads on the board. I want to take a chance to express my view a little bit AND ask other companies if they are interested in advertising too? All 8 slots have been filled on the front page but there are a few companies, whom I will not name individually, that could have a problem with who is allowed to advertise. That will be a decision I make. I will not be forced into any situation that I am not comfortable with. I have said from day one that there will not be a bias on this board towards advertisers and I will not let anyone tell me how to run the board, operationally. The advertising dollars are not more important than the integrity of the board. There might very well be a few companies, that we all know and love, that I tell to take a hike..concerning this issue. I will still like them and do business with them...just not allow them to advertise. All potential advertisers will have something to do with our market and that's the real criteria. Please email me and let's talk about advertising if you are not one of the 8 and want to advertise. I have only given a 6 month contract on purpose. This board had 1266 unique IP addresses (people/computers) hit it yesterday, and within a few hits of 20,000 total. I don't think there are very many places our advertisers get the presence/exposure as they do on this board, from such a targeted market. How many times do folks read a magazine? How many times do they read this board? I feel this advertising has a better ROI than almost any print advertising (obvious biased opinion). SO far I have taken no banners ads on the Buy/Sell/Trade pages so those are completely open, get almost as many hits, in total, as the main forum.....and are another prime place to advertise, imho.
