Default Fake card seller

I've seen some pretty bold scammers on eBay, but it's surprising to see someone's who's been around for 10 years, has decent feedback and is this audacious. Check out his other stuff. He has a spare '52 Mantle in case you need one.

Why do all these fake cards have those wavy cracks all over? Are they printed on?

At least one buyer caught on, and learned an expensive lesson. The seller responds with accusations.

He didnt pay a lot, so hes passing along the savings. Another estate sale with nothing but some of the top cards in the hobby. Nobody ever stumbles across a box of roaches commons. Only Ruth's, Mantles, Cobbs, and Jacksons.

These auctions always read alike. Whenever I see:

"Original/Reprint: Unknown ". I know it's time to run away.

Buyer paid $179 for a 1959 Mays PSA 10. How can anyone believe that card was real?

My mistake: the card was graded GMA 10. Whatever that is...

The rules posted on the 52 Mantle are worth the time to read. He apologizes to those who are “on the up and up” because he has to set the ground rules for newbies due to the numerous problems he has had.

I reported a couple of his items. Hopefully karma will come back around and get this guy one way or another.

my favorite is that he has sold multiples of each of these incredibly rare cards. I'll go out on a limb and guess nobody has ever had 6 of that Jackson card at one time.

Here's a response I received back when I asked him if his M101 of Jim Thorpe was real. He even gave me his full name ...

It's identical to every card I have sold from this set (other than the advertiser on the back as there are 10 different ones.) I have sold over 75 from this set in the last few years. All the Commons are gone and down to my last few stars, including a Ruth.

There sometimes will be a color difference on this set either black or a brownish tint can be found. Same reason, depends on who made it.
Hope that helps some.
Regards
Bob Forsyth

This appears to be the same guy. He's definitely not shy.

He also sent me a lower offer on the Thorpe ... just $155!

I find it interesting that he lists many of the cards as reprints but then selects certain cards to sell as “unknown” or original. Very strange mix.

I think GMA means that this seller wakes up every day and says, "Good Morning America! Can't wait to rip you off!"

Here's more from the seller. It sounds like he has quite a collection ...

I sent my lowest accepted offer price too if still interested.
If interested in some of the others from the set, (I think I have 4 up now) or I can send you a list of the ones not up yet and scans. The Ruth up now is my worst one, I have been debating selling my other one (different back), same with my Mr Joe Jackson. I collect both of these players myself and Cobbs.
Note able others off the top of my head are Alexander, Smokey Joe Wood, Casey Stengel, Buck Weaver & a few more.
Always best to get all at once to save on shipping & I can go to my lowest acceptable price without even asking for it.
Have a great day.
Bob

PS:
I have one other Thorpe card, but not from this set. It is from the 1933 Goudey Sport Kings set. Also have 3 others from that set, Bobby Jones (golf), Ty Cobb and my favorite Babe Ruth card.

The one ripped-off buyer was incorrect. The GMA slab was not opened and resealed with a reprint. GMA disclaims evaluation of authenticity on their "website" - they are happy to grade the reprint as if it were original. They have even graded photocopies as the actual card.

I can't believe this! The negative rating that this clown received has been taken down. He now has a 100% feedback score, and there is no sign of this negative feedback. What is the point of a feedback system if ebay allows negative feedback to be removed? 100% MY ASS!

"None of you has a life. What a shame."

Could you explain why you have a problem with this thread? Is this topic not relevant here?

Default My exchange with Bob....

My exchange with him from an email he sent me yesterday. You need to read from the bottom up to get the correct order. My last response is right below here. He never responded back from this...after he had asked which ones were fake.....but again each email from bottom up is the way to try to make sense of it.

"The 1916 M101 Jackson in the first post in the thread is such a bad fake it isn’t even funny. Terrible fake. Trust me. Terrible.

The M101 Thorpe is the same way. A terrible fake. Not anywhere remotely close to being real. I hope it’s clear what I am saying.

Your Nap Lajoie M series, again, terrible fake. Not remotely close to being real.

Wagner from the M series. Same thing, Terrible looking fake.

Your ’52 Topps Mantle is hilarious it is so fake. Not anywhere close to being real. You say “Unknown”. I am telling you, now you know. It is a bad fake/reprint. Not even a good one.

Do you want me to continue or are you getting the point? I mean really, you can’t have collected these before because if you did, as I and hundreds on the board have, you would know they are bad, immediately. Not for a split second do any of these look authentic.

Seems you have some members that like to make accusations with zero backing of fact.

I was alerted by one of your readers. Been around a loooong time an selling since 85, and most likely have been before these people were even born.

Fake card seller - Net54baseball.com Forums

Fake card seller - Net54baseball.com Forums

Per your rules, their names should be fully listed Many are not but go on and on and make up stuff, like selling 6 of the same card that is valuable. May want to ask that person show a 2nd one never mind a 3rd 4th 5th or 6.

But its your site, do what you will.

Have a good week
