Default S74 Silk Redux

Picked up this neat misprinted S74 recently to add to the little type set I have going. We don't talk too much about them but if you have any and would like to share it would be great. If not then that's ok too . As a matter of fact if you don't even like them, that's ok too. I would guess this factory marking at the bottom of the pictured silk includes the top of another factory mark of another silk ..regards

Yes, the factory information is normally on the top.

Leon,
I knew you'd be bidding on that one. Even though it's not that severely miscut, I've never seen another one like it. Congrats.

Thanks Ed and Andy. It's funny how we learn what others will be interested in and bidding on without knowing for certain.

Ed- I figured you or Gary N would be bidding too....It's no where close to the one I got from you (Ed-.. Miller misprint below) but it still fits nicely in the type set of them...

I'm sorry to show my ignorance on these (I'm still pretty new to pre-war vintage) but how do these compare price-wise to T205s? I've always thought silks and blankets were pretty neat but I've never priced them before.

Nice cards, Leon!

Just like in T205's different players and different backs produce different values. The Cobb shown is one of three known Helmar backs....it would set you back about 4k-6k. The Red Sun backs are very scarce and go for about $375-$750 depending on player and condition, and way more for a top tier HOF'er. Old Mill and Turkey Reds that are nice, go for about $75-$275 depending on if they are paper backed or colored (which have the factories and brands on front on the full silks) and HOF'er or common......Hope this gives you an idea...Silks in high grade (60 and above) are very uncommon and might command an additional premium.

Great catch there, guy.

Here's my type S74 silk....finally, found one that does not have "ragged" edges.
