Default November Pickups 2012

Hey guys (and gals),

We're almost half way through November and no one has posted a football card they've acquired this month. Everybody thinking about Turkey already? Can't think about Turkey without thinking about football.

Here are a couple to get things rolling.

Default 1960 Topps Set MINT

I just picked up a beautiful 1960 Topps Set. The owner hadn't looked at it in 40 years he said. Here a few samples from the set:

Unitas looks crazy, like he shoulda been locked up!

Agreed on Unitas! I added some thought bubbles to your cards below:

Gifford: Hey Tittle, look at all my hair!
Tittle: Why do you think I'm wearing helmet?

Starr: Mfff, Mfff I think I'm gonna toss my cookies
Hornung: HAH, look at Starr. I drink him under the table every time!

Brown: What's up with Unitas? Permanent concussion?
Unitas: Don't blink during the picture, don't blink during the picture

Unitas looks crazy, like he shoulda been locked up!

Default My most recent 50 Bowmans

Recently acquired for my budget conscious 50 Bowman Set (111/144).
I'm trying to build this set for less than $8/card. Currently at $7.28/card,
but still need about half of the star cards. Overall VG/EX+, but my Baugh is
nicer. Still need Graham and Tittle without too much room to work to meet my criteria.
Including my need list if anyone has a card or two that would fit in my set.

John Greene
Y.A.Tittle
Lou Groza
Tony Canadeo
Larry Craig
Joe Golding
Tank Younger
Glenn Davis
Val Jansante
Bosh Pritchard
Johnny Lujack
Sid Luckman
Bill Dudley
George Thomas
Bobby Layne
Otto Graham
Al Demao
Emil Sitko
Bill Johnson C
Tobin Rote
Dick Hoerner
Howard Hartley
George Connor
Charley Conerly
Leo Nomellini
Wallace Triplett
Ken Carpenter
Jack Zilly
Elbert Nickel
Jim Finks
Charley Trippi
Chuck Bednarik
Jim White

Nothing too special in this lot, but I want to support Jeff and his threads. Maybe he can add captions to these cards too.

Thanks for the post, Frank, and the support. I love the '50 Bowman set. The size is cool and the colors are sharp. Looks like you're making excellent progress on your set!

Very nice Taylor rookie card. I've always liked the ransom note look to the 1959 Topps.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! Just picked these up this week as I'm working to complete my 1963 Topps set. I bet these two guys could eat some turkey in their day.

Rob

the 69,s came from SGC board member.

The 57's were ebay finds. 9 times out of 10 you get overgraded junk on ebay, but every now and then you can find a good dependable seller.
