I love it when someone else starts a thread like this....

http://jp1216.webs.com/t206downs/

7 different backed Downs and counting... Plus a couple misprinted (no name) varieties. In the future, probably better to start with a Drum or Uzit and work back down - not up....

Those are nice collections! I just started doing the same type of collection. I was struggling with which card to do, and decided to do the Larry Doyle Hold Bat card.

No sure how many different backs there are, but I'm going after them!

Default A couple of Pirates

Like Jamie - the remainder of these make take the rest of the lifetime...

Leifield batting 13/16(?) EPDG is on the way, lack Drum, Tolstoi and possibly Red Hindu if PSA registry is to be believed.

Leach fielding - 12/15(?) need EPDG, Lenox, and Pied Fac 42

Maddox - 10/11. Missing only Drum, I think.

I'm not [currently] a T206 collector, but I love seeing these threads. There's something very cool to me about seeing a card all lined up with a bunch of different backs. Once I finally decide *which* T206 I will start another such collection, but until then I will collect vicariously through threads like this.

Great cards everyone!

There was a Leach bending over brown Lenox in 19th Century about 10 years ago that sold for $4500

He justs asks them nicely, and they all line up!!

looks to me like he places them side by side and then scans them, then rotates the scan, or lays them out on a table and takes a picture of them.

Default Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks for the positive feedback, everyone! Jim, I'll put the Leach Brown Lenox on the shelf just under Wags... as unattainable.

As for the process, I gently peeled the the cards in half and laid them all out on the scanner ... took the images all in one pass, carefully glued the two halves back together again and re-inserted cards back in the slabs (where relevant, of course). I think I got them all back in the right places...

But seriously ... for those that have asked, I use Paintshop Pro for both scanning and processing - any image editing software will do. This is simple scan, crop, save, and so forth. Combining images to make a composite is also easy. If you have a little bit of programming skill, there's much more you can do...

Default Mike F......re.. Red HINDU

From my info, I can 99 % guarantee you that this Leifield card will not be found with a Red HINDU back.
As a consequence, you don't have to worry about a BROAD LEAF 460 card, either.

This is supported by the fact that this card exists with an AB460 back and a UZIT back. These 2 backs
are mutually exclusive with Red HINDU in the 350/460 series (which this Leifield is in).

Incidently, a DRUM has been confirmed for this Leifield card.

Default Great Chase Cards, Ted

Always great to see that impressive run. Thanks not only for your positive feedback, but - as always - for your dedication and research on the Monster.

I've based most of my pop info on your (and others') surveys on the board and have made only one or two additions. The Leifield "Red Hindu" comment came about from your recent "Uzit/Red Hindu twins" thread where Scot R reported (in post #28) 2 such possibilities from the PSA registry.

Like Scot, I suspect (would like to believe) they may be mis-categorizations based only on your work on distribution/pattern identifications across the various backs... an image proving/disputing those categorizations would be useful.

As always, keep up the great work!

Great array guy. These player sub-sets are fun and a challenge that is not overwhelming.

As I see it, these are the backs you still need......

EPDG

Sweet Cap 460/25

Sweet Cap 460/42 overprint

UZIT

Hi Ted
Well make that five, I wasn't aware of a Uzit, although I knew it was possible.
The four I was talking about were the other three you mentioned and Cycle 460.
Have you ever seen or heard of a Meyers Uzit.
Thanks
Mike

Default Mike F......re.. Red HINDU

Regarding your excerpt of Scot's post on my prior thread......

" The Leifield "Red Hindu" comment came about from your recent "Uzit/Red Hindu twins" thread where Scot R reported (in post #28)
2 such possibilities from the PSA registry. "

I have to further discuss this with Scot, as I don't trust the PSA registry on this one. Could PSA have confused the Leifield (pitching)
pose which is a 150/350 series card that has been confirmed with the Brown HINDU back ? Recall that Scot said PSA simply identified
these 2 cards as "HINDU". Excuse me, but that's too vague for me.

I guess I'm skeptical, because I have never seen Leifield (batting) with a Red HINDU.
