Liz asked me to say Thank You to everyone for your prayers & good wishes. She is responding very well to treatment and her doctors are extremely optimistic for a full recovery.

I am under orders from her to continue my hobby activities in a normal fashion, so here I am.

Leon, you have my gratitude for tolerating these O/T threads.

Jerry,

I certainly don't speak for Leon but in my opinion these types of threads are never OT. They are a vital part of board members lives and therefore, very much On Topic.

We'll keep thinking of you and your wife.

Give it Hell Mr and Mrs H

If any of you folks on the board have got a few minutes between bids, you may wanna take a look at Professor Randy Pausch's 'The Last Lecture' (youtube has it). I've directed some of my patient's and families there... It may change your life too. PS, It ain't religion.

That is the absolute best news I will hear today!! I am so happy she is doing well. We are a collective family and in time of need we pull together. I have seen it happen over and over again. And as far as permitting this it's really a no brainer. WE are family first and collectors second. We might have spats, and this and that, but 99.9% of collectors are good folks and truly care about each other. I know I do and I can safely say the vast majority of the board does too. I have stated this thought many times publicly and I firmly believe it.

Steve- Randy Pausch's 'The Last Lecture' is one of the most inspirational things anyone will ever see. I have watched that lecture about 5-10 times and it might be the best speech ever. Period. If anyone doubts it then do a google, watch it, and come back and say otherwise. May he rest in peace.....

I know we have never met or had any contact in the past, but your first post really struck a chord in me - that is my biggest fear. I always try to make it a point to feel appreciation and gratitude for all that I have, but those feelings have been more intense for me lately. I was very bummed out to hear about your situation, and I can't tell you how happy I am for you and your family to hear this new prognosis. Congratulations!

Matt

Great news Jerry!

Having family go through cancer, and a wife who's been through three major open heart surgeries since she was 16 (and now currently living in chronic a-fib), I know the pain and utter fear you're going through.

Keep the faith, you'll beat this damn thing.

Greg

Thank You for all your prayers.

The prognosis is excellent. A full recovery is predicted. Liz should be out of Westchester Medical Center by the first week of Oct. with a predicted chance of relapse being less than 5%.

Now back to cards.
