Default Show your all time PreWW2 card ultimate lineup

Being a fellow who likes to stay strictly on topic, I thought I would spin this ultimate lineup idea even further by starting a "Show your all time PreWW2 card lineup".

The rules are that you have to own (or use to own) each card you show, and those cards need to have been issued before 1942. For relief pitcher feel free to be creative...plenty of great starting pitchers of the era put in some relief time as well. I went with Doc Crandall, the first pitcher to be consistently used in relief.

1B Lou Gehrig - 1933 Goudey
2B Rogers Hornsby - W503
SS Honus Wagner - W-Unc Orange Border
3B Pie Traynor - 1935 Goudey
C Mickey Cochrane - Diamond Stars
OF Babe Ruth - W551
OF Ty Cobb - T206
OF Tris Speaker - W572
SP Christy Mathewson - D304
SP Lefty Grove - Tattoo Orbit
RP Doc Crandall - T205
MGR John McGraw - W-UNC

Default cards team

Good thread idea, Brian. I'm going with some already scanned cards. This list is only for today and could rapidly change going forward...

Nice entries so far. I especially like the idea of just one set to come up with the best lineup. I think that idea would be a great thread by itself as well.

Hey Ted,

Brian's rules say card had to be issued before 1942. We need to see a different Gehrig!

Cheers,
Patrick

I sold (or traded) all my Goudey sets....so no go on Gehrig cards.

Therefore, I posted the 1934 GOUDEY (2nd series) sheet with Gehrig (card #61)

Pre-WWII I'd probably have to say this one with Foxx in the lineup hitting a HR.

Not exactly what was meant but saw pre-WWII lineup and couldn't help myself.

This was kind of fun and it made me realize that I don't currently own a Wagner or Johnson. I went with:

1B Gehrig
2B Hornsby
SS Dahlen
3B Traynor
OF Cobb
OF DiMaggio
OF Ruth
P Mathewson
C Cochrane
MGR Uncle Robbie

bench: stacked
