I have had this boxing photo for awhile now and was wondering if any of you guys could provide me with information regarding it. Exact date? Identity of boxer? Thanks in advance!

Exact date would be tough, but the cabinet is a style seen around 1890, give or take a few years.

I agree with Barry 1890s, most likely an unknown fighter, but with some research you maybe able to find something. Start with the photographer and where the picture was taken. Then you can search if there were any famous fighters from the area.

Ben,

Here is the back of another photo of which may be the same photographer. This may help you in your research?

Nice pose, flag belt. c. 1890 is about right. Looks like a professional of the era.

He looks a little bit like a lot of guys but not quite any of them exactly.

Look up Paddy Ryan, Jake Kilrain (older version), Steve Taylor and Mike Conley.

I don't really think it's any of them but those are the guys with similar attributes I could find and I just might not have found the right pose.
