Default Are there any decent looking ungraded T206s out there ...

... that haven't been trimmed???

When I do find a nice quality ungraded card up for sale on eBay nearly every one seems to a) be an obvious trim job or b) a more subtle trim job. I don't want to "out" any particular auction but if you search on eBay for T206 -PSA -SGC -BVG etc., and sort by highest price to obtain a list of the higher quality ungraded cards, you'll see what I mean.

p.s. Also -TOPPS and -REPRINT in your search to eliminate the multitude of crap.

Default Yes

some people still have never come around on grading. including many long time hobbyists with nice collections, including large numbers of T206s.

Default Rob--

I list an auction almost every week for raw T206's on the BST that are fresh, clean, new-to-market and guaranteed not trimmed or altered.

Here is my latest entry--check them out for yourself!

I started to buy nice ungraded cards couple years ago, then stopped after first 3 were all trimmed when sent for grading...

Out of my set of 520, all ungraded though many have been "liberated" I probably have no more than a dozen that would meet the criteria "nice" (5 or above) and never graded and I am certain are untrimmed.

There are plenty of untrimmed raw cards for sale on ebay, and there are plenty of graded trimmed ones. In most cases, unless you have severe vision problems, if you are depending on SGC and PSA to tell you that a trimmed card is trimmed, you shouldn't have mailed it to them in the first place.

Not knocking anyone, as I have very poor close-up vision, but my 10X loupe usually does the trick.

Ones that come back EOT, or assumed trimmed because they got an "A"?

I've picked up a few nice ones that would only be "A" because they don't meet the min size. But they're not trimmed. (Including the one advertised as trimmed )

I've had pretty good luck, maybe a couple trims, but also a few really nice ones. - Depending on where you draw the line for "nice" Certainly cards that would be solid 50's are out there, and I've had a few that were better, 60-80.
If you're looking for cards to buy and grade, you really need a large monitor and a browser that lets you zoom in. Many scans aren't good enough, but a lot are good enough to give you an idea of edge quality which is what you're looking for to avoid trims.
