Not quite vintage, but I thought a decent number of board members would enjoy this one. It's a 1949 team issue.

Paul, I had that one in my watchlist...It went much higher than I thought it would, but then again I had never seen it before so it must be pretty rare. I collect Lincoln Athletics items and Nellie Fox has always been one of my favorite players.

Ryan pulled a couple of examples of this card out of Venezuela. There's one other player represented and only two of each known. The players are from the Venezuelan professional league and they were issued in 1931. I feel pretty lucky to have this one.

I like the logo on Mr. Fung's jersey. Do you know if the team names was "Diablos"?

I've still got a lot of research to do on the Venezuelan leagues. So far it's been a slow go as there isn't a ton of information out there, to put it mildly. Maybe Ryan can chime in on this.

Congratulations Chad!!!

I don't know anything about this card other than what you and Ryan have said about it, but my Pigeon Spanish leads me to believe that the team name has to be Magallanes...not only because of what the rest of the card states but the placement of the name on the card.

Chad, I might be full of bunk, but you might want to research if it is a team name with reference to Magellan (in English) or discovery in general... that's just a hunch.

Yes Bill
It's an E93 and it's my first Plank card, I wish it was a higher grade but the price was right.

Although I bought this card back in 1990, I just got my Matty McIntyre Turkey Red Cabinet grade back from PSA .... it is a NM 7 ! No scans available ... yet. It should go nicely with all my PSA 1,2, and 3s from that set ... hehe.
