I see you didn't even answer your own question. I use leaf (smokeless) tobacco and an occasional cigar.

I was a smoker from age 14 until Jan. 24th of this year... Now I chew gum until my jaw gets sore.

A pipe every now and then. I used to smoke daily, but I have a friend who has had to have his gums disattached and scraped twice, so I don't smoke near as much anymore.

Disclaimer: I do collect T206's, which were used to advertise cigarettes; however, I don't feel that collecting them encourages cigarette use, as the cigarettes they advertised have already been used, and you can no longer get baseball cards packaged with tobacco products.

Lung cancer is a horrible disease - if Honus Wagner did, in fact, have his image pulled from the T206 set because he didn't want people buying cigarettes because of the cards, or because they thought that the players pictured on the cards were endorsing them, I can completely understand.

I smoke & collect, I swear & collect, I drink & collect. I used to have sex & collect, but I got too old so I gave up sex.

I chose "no," but on occasion (less than a dozen times a year) I'll enjoy a cigar.

I started when I was around 30. A friend used to smoke his pipe while we worked on our old cars - my '67 Firebird and his '66 Chevy. It's a good association.

Default Smoke signals

I smoked a half a cigar once. Does that mean I have to vote that I used to smoke but no longer do?

In my collection I have bunch of cards that I picked up over ten years ago from a heavy smoker that still smell smoky.

That is all I have to offer on this subject.

I have never smoked and did start to feel a conflict when I wanted to use vintage tobacco cards to decorate my children's room. I was looking at the 19th century actress cards. I found myself opting for ones that already had the advertisement trimmed off.

The thing that makes it easier is I just am glad that the brands aren't still in business.

Also if there is a survey I use to be a bubble gum chewer but have quit and still collect gum (R-) cards. I do still eat caramel and chocolate candies and collect E cards as well. I do eat bread, ice cream, cereal, and other food but don't currently own any D- or F-cards. I use to read the newspaper and still do occasionally and do collect M- cards. I do not strip but own W- cards

Default Cigar now and then

I like a good cigar now and then, but shouldn't since I'm asthmatic.

2-packs a day for nearly 20 years. been smoke-free for nearly 5 years and am very proud of it. although, when i did smoke, i was (and still am) a proponent for all the smoke-restricting laws that all all the other smokers opposed. odd in that i'm for the "legalize it" movement but quit smoking that too, over 10 years ago....

I quit smoking in 1965 at 24 years old. My Grandfather was born in 1886 and smoked all his life, but he rolled his own cigarettes, He had his own cigarrette rolling machine. no chemicals. He also drank beer everyday, early years from a a bucket, warm beer, that's how they did it in those years. Died at 88 years old. My Dad smoked and did not drink but was involved with asbestas from cleaning out some some school ceilings. He died of lung cancer at 73 years old. Unfortunately, it is a combination of things that cause lung cancer. My cousin, who was my best man at my wedding died of lung cancer at 33 years old in 1976, he smoked, but worked at a diamond cutting factory and missed his annual chest exray. Still miss him.

Sad but true

By the time I was 19 I smoked 2-3 packs a day. Started working in an underground coal mine at 20. Can't smoke underground. I cut back to 1/2 to 1 pack and started chewing snuff and scrap. I always promised myself I'd quit but I didn't even when my Dad died from smoking. Finally three years later my dentist told me he was concerned about the sores in my mouth. Turned to be pre-cancerous lesions. Didn't have to hit me over the head then. May 6, 1996 I smoked and chewed my last. To me giving up the cigs was easy, but I still crave a lip full of Copenhagen today.

I never have and never will. I just never got into it. Same thing with alcohol. I always figured more money for collectibles. That and i've been very unhealthy my whole life and didn't want to add to my problems. When I was young, I didn't collect any vintage because I connected them to tobacco and felt like there was a minimum age requirement to collect or even show interest in them. I never gave other non tobacco vintage any thought either because they were always with the tobacco cards. I know now that it sounds kinda funny but I was a wierd kid that carried a book bag to school and was called the walking tag/yard sale and never had school stuff in my book bag but did have coins, stamps, cards, and comics to sell or trade in it.

For the people that get cards from others that have a smoke smell, get a Sharper Image Air Ionizer or other brand and just set the card on a table next to it over night. By morning, the smell will be completely gone.

I expect there are more than a few weird kids here. I was and still am. I think I only tried smoking to finally join in with the "normal teens". Not smart.

I was in a convenience store the other day and the young girl ahead of me paid $7.50 for a pack of Marlboros. I wanted to smack some sense into her, but I was buying a 30 pack of beer for over twice that.

Used to do one smallish cigar a day...quit because of insurance...I own a company and there is a pretty substantial policy in place and it was crazy expensive if you even casually smoke. If you look at the data on cigars and don't inhale the smoke into your lungs, it's really not that bad...cigar smokers actually have a lower incidence of lung cancer than non smokers (by a point, which probably equates to socioeconomic factors). Still smells bad.

Quit smoking in 1992 after a doctor spent 3 hours removing polyps from my sinuses. Apparently I was allergic to something n e cigarette smoke, imagine that. Still own some Altria stock, my wallet likes the dividend.

Default I used to dip

From 1993-1995. I may have once or twice since then yet still crave it sometimes. That is powerfully addicting stuff. If you haven't tried it dont. Now 4:20 that's a different story for another time.
