Default How come so many collectors die soon after buying reprints?

Unbelievable the number of fakes sold on ebay which were purchased at estate sales...

Because when they realize how much they just spent on a fake item, it kills them!

The fake purchase, death and subsequent estate sale seems to be a neverending cycle.

The deeper question is how these people who died 30+ years ago obtained reprints made from a 2003 Hewlett-Packard laser printer. Perhaps it was the rigors of time travel that led to premeture death.

The thing is, if one of us comes across a hitherto unknown "find" of the type we all occasionally dream about, like finding a T206 Wagner (or other card of your choice) being used as a bookmark in an old copy of "Huck Finn," it will most likely happen at some kind of estate sale. I don't think any of us are going to stop looking, especially since there is no risk of death if the cards are real.

And I guess the reason so many reprints are all beat up is because there really is no reason to take care of them. It's amazing how a $5 reprint becomes a $200+ card once it is beat up.
