I'd be cautious on it. It looks like the signature was done very slowly and precisely. Thats just my opinion and hopefully others will jump in and help you out. Good luck with it, hope I'm wrong

I compared it to mine and it looks good - BUT - I would get JSA to confirm. It is definitely worth the money to do it. - Ray

Assuming mine is not a forgery, the "Babe" looks close but the "Ruth" looks simplified and the slant is different. (Whether that is a function of it being penned on a spherical surface as opposed to a flat one I wouldn't know). Is its boldness too good to be true? (Pretty strong for a sig that is at least 62 years old). I am not an autograph guy whatsoever. My opinion is irrelevant to that of guys like Richard and Jodi but I would need to be persuaded that it is a bona fide Ruth auto.

I agree with Matt, that it looks rather slowly and deliberately penned. I also think there are possible signs of re-tracing.... although it is tough to tell without seeing it in person, though...

Some areas of concern are the bottom-right portion of the large case "B", the top of the small "b", the beginning of the "R", and perhaps even the crossed portion of the "t".

It's possible that the fountain pen was just "leakier" in those spots, but it also looks a bit sketchy. I would get this one professionally authenticated. If you do so, please be sure to post the results for us. This one is pretty interesting.
