The word "pitcher" doesn't line up the same in each card and that is the area that the restoration was apparently done; but when you look at the restored card the work is simply undetectable.

The expression on the face doesn't look quite the same to me. We have all seen T206 Cobbs that look sneaky, prayful, disgusted--because of the placement of the pupils in their eyes. My first impression of Barry's auction card is that there's something wrong with the mouth, but the photo of Mastro's auction card is not large enough for me to verify this.

Am I just seeing things?

The different expression you think you see could be due to the fact, the one on the left is a bit distorted (stretched horizontally).

Actually looks like all 3 words are printed more to the right. Check where the "S" is in the player name.
