Default T206 Question

Posted By: James Walker, Jr.

I recently started a collecting T206's (have a card with 3 more on the way). To help out, I purchased a book "The Mysteries of T206" by Mark Peavey from eBay.

In the book, it lists each card front and what Series that card can be found in. According to the book, Lajoie with bat was only issued in the 350 Series. However, while searching through eBay I came across one that has an American Beauty 460 Series back.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1838994693

So my question ... Was this card really released in both the 350 and 460 Series? I've seen this front with a Piedmont 350 and Sovereign 350 back.

Thanks,

James Walker, Jr.

The white boxes mean that the card can be found in that series - black means they cannot. The Lajoie batting is available in the 460 series, but the "throwing" and "portrait" are not.

Where did you get this one? And does anyone know when the new T206 book is being released?

Robert, as for when the new T206 book will be released, go right to the horse's mouth - contact Doug Allen at Mastro. He is one of the authors and is (at least from my experience) a very nice guy and very receptive to talking about cards, and I am sure he can give you the update.

My book doesn't have boxes ... it has "O"'s.

Just wondering what book are you referring to?

Thanks

Default T206 Question

Posted By: Robert

Is it worth it? I have Lipset's encyclopedia and some other books (not to mention all the old VCBCs and a host of auction catalogs) -- is there anything substantially new in this one? Or should I wait for the bigger book upcoming...

Any and all opinions welcome!
