A W575-1 with a stamped back? Even the front doesn't inspire confidence with me, but what do I know?

Default My vote

I vote for a fake with phoney aged back and the typical perfect centering with perfectly rounded corners. I don’t think the seller is dishonest but I don’t think this is the “real deal” ….. just my opinions from gut reaction

From the font and kerning, it looks like someone did a cut and paste of a cropped Baker caption from the front of an M101-4/M101-5 type to create the caption on this one and printed a blurry E121-120 back for good measure.

The font is definitely off, it is more fancy, like the m101-4/5s. The e121 font is plainer. Also the name is such a dark black compared to the rest of the card

I agree...his name on the front is so bold in comparison to its border line above it to almost look as if it was superimposed onto the image of this card.

Exact first things I noticed as well, especially the corners. When do you ever see corners naturally wear so perfectly like that? Agree, not real.

268. Unicornering (Unicornery)
A card doctor making all four corners of a very rare and valuable (fake) card universally, symmetrically rounded, although a card like that does not exist in the natural world.

Too much is wrong with that card for it to be genuine, as you guys have mentioned. If whoever wins that card is reading this thread, I suggest that you put on sunglasses before testing it with uv light. It'll fluoresce brightly. It's not a genuine card.

I think it's from the same group of early fakes as this card I've had since 78.
Someone told me what exact fake it is, but I don't remember. I think it's in messages somewhere. (I really should start writing this stuff down)

100% Fake.

Stamped back…all wrong
E135 style printing on front with E121 style back…all wrong
Baker was not among the cards that are included in the E121-120 set (he was dropped after the E121-80 set)… all wrong

Bad fake.
