Default L1 Leathers

Posted By: Richard

I was reading the April '06 Mastro description of a Ty Cobb L1 Leather and this is what it says about how many are around:

"L1 leathers exist in miniscule amounts compared with the T3 premiums and less than a half dozen L1 leathers of Cobb have ever been seen, in any condition! "

My question is how many L1's of each player are around? Would it be accurate to say that there is a population of about a half dozen of each player still existing today?

Here is the link to the auction description:

Default L1 Leathers

I don't know the population, but the baseball L1s are rare. I would think Mastro's judgment on rarity is as reliable as anyone's.
