Default Indians/Ohio state Photos ID Help

Hey everyone-

I recently purchased a small lot of oversized cards (topps Giants, SGAs, and a few other photos) and the lot contained these. The stamps on the back lead me to believe these may have been an SGA but not really sure. Does anyone happen to know what they are or where they may be from? (Lot contents pretty much dates from 1961-1986)

Thanks!
Stefan

On the Indians, the one peeking out at the top-left, looks like it could be Mudcat Grant.

Also, in the group photo at the bottom, three of them look like they could be Herb Score, Bob Lemon and Early Wynn.

Thanks Steve! They actually have the name stamped on the backs, just trying to figure out if they're from something (like a stadium giveaway, team issue, etc.)

Hi Stefan,
I would guess they look to be team issued.
#21 on the Indians (middle photo) is pitcher Jack Kralick, which would nail down the year to mid-1960's

I cant speak for the OSU photos but the Indians photographs would not have been a SGA; they appear to be team or press publicity photos.

Thanks! Sounds like I may just call them "Team Issue" then! Thanks for the help!

I also see Max Alvis, Dick Howser and Birdie Tebbetts, who was their manager. I would call them team photos. The stamp on the back resembles the same one that's on the backs of Reds photos from the late 1930s through at least the 1950s. I'm also guessing these came out in '64, since that's the year Early Wynn became a coach. I believe the Indians switched to red caps in '65. I suppose the pictures could also come from early '65 before the red caps came out.

Thanks!! '64 would make sense with the other contents (1961 Phillies Mantle; Large lot of '67 Topps Pin-Ups)!

Hi Stefan,

The Indians photos are from 1964. Back row: Jim Grant, Max Alvis, Al Luplow. Middle Row: Jack Kralick, Woodie Held, Dick Howser. Bottom photo is coaches and mgr.: Elmer Valo, George Strickland, Birdie Tebbetts, Early Wynn. Solly Hemus was also a coach on that team and could be one of the 2 on the left, but they look like Valo and Strickland to me. Woodie held was traded to the Senators after the season, and Valo did not return the next season as a coach, so I don't think there is any way that these could be from 1965.

Hope this info. helps.

Jeff
