Picked up a couple more '33 Goudeys. Also liked the centering on the '38 Greenberg.

Default Photographs

Here are a couple of sweet photographs!

C. 1920's Type I Photograph of Frank "Home Run" Baker (Property Of The Sporting News) PSA / DNA Certified. This same photo was used for his
E120 & V100 Baseball Cards. Won this photo right here on our BST a couple of weeks ago!

A beauty C. 1939 "Rookie Era" Photograph of Ted Williams in uniform.

Nice pick-ups. I think I may have bid on that Foxx. Glad it went to you. Nicest 4 I've seen pop up in a long time.

Jeff: There's a fairly common postcard of the Red Sox spring training facility in Florida (I have a copy somewhere in the dungeon) that depicts the hotel in the background of your photo so that might pin it down a little further.

Great pick ups AJ! That Cobb is awesome for a 3 - is there a crease hiding somewhere?

So many awesome cards exchanged hands.

Picked up my 2nd proof and another fantastic freak from a net54 member. Also picked up a few Cobb's, including this mean green number.

Thank you to Andy for a very pleasant multi-card trade! This Kane is a tough one, and it puts me within three cards of the set.

(Please see my BST post for the other T211 cards that I'm looking for.)

Cheers,
Steve

Wow...there cannot be very many complete sets in existence !
Even T211 type cards aren't that easy, but the whole set is a big accomplishment.
Major-minor league congrats!

Default Signed T207 Marquard

I've never owned a signed T207 card before. Got outbid a few times in the past, but was able to make a trade for this one. Pretty excited about it!

Lots of good stuff here, guys. Glad to find this post. Here's one of the most recent pick ups. If lifetime passes interest you at all, here's a link to a few others, mostly MLB lifetime passes as well as letters from Honus Wagner, Walter Johnson, and Fred Clarke to Ford Frick thanking him for the passes.

Lifetime pass page link here.

While at the site you can search for your favorite HoFer as all are there. There's also a couple hundred non-HoFers too.

Thanks, Ed and Brian!

I agree that a complete set is tough, but I took a shortcut by buying the near-set in REA spring 2015. I've been adding, trading, and upgrading since then...trying to complete the set without marks, major paper loss, or trimming.

It's been a lot of fun, and I've met several nice people in the process!

Apologize for one more post-war card from me on this thread, but thought this was too cool to pass up: Autographed Jim Rowe PC of this tough HOFer. Pre-stroke! Guessing this is circa early 1970s.

Only "one higher," as they say, SGC or PSA....Love the subtle, or not so subtle, depictions of why Cy was great--allegedly did not mess with women, drink, gambling or the horses. Truth to this?

There are some GREAT traders here, and here are two of the GREATEST !!!

Tom B. comes through with a Speaker and Willis. Thought Speaker would take me quite awhile, and a Cycle to boot ..... Willis, love my Sov.150 portraits

zzzswll.jpg

Then Luke L. deals me some tough EPDGs, and a very tough (imo ) Doolan/field Sov. ..................... Unreal !!!!

Sweet Crawford, love any old PCL stuff. Picked up a couple former PCLers myself, and SF natives. Now just need Joe... too bad I didn't win the three as a lot in Mile High 2 years ago.

You gotta get a '41 PB Joe D to round out the trifecta. THAT would be really cool. Good luck Ian!

Thank you Kenny for giving me a shot at this card. I had always admired it since you first showed it to me

Wow, that is a nice one. Millions of great cards in the hobby and ole #144 might just be my favorite. Congrats.

Thanks Leon! The pose I drooled over as a kid in a baseball card shop in Joplin Missouri back in the 90's. It was in one of those thick 1" screw down holders which made it standout even more. Glad to pick up a very presentable example!

I think I had my "aha" moment the first time I saw one too. It was like,
ok, this is what an old baseball card should look like (to me). My first one came from a mimeograph from Gar Miller but when I got it Babe had a wrinkle right through his face which couldn't be seen from the paper picture I had seen.

Thanks Dean, that's the goal. Did snag a signed '40 PB Joe D (close enough for now)
