Another two swipes at the Monster. my new number is 238.9

I picked up....

Bill Lattimore SC350
Shad Barry (Milwaukee) Polar Bear

When I joined the Board back in late June 2012, my first Monster Number thread post was for 104. That makes for a gain of 136 cards to reach the 238.9, a good portion of which were scored from Board members here on the BST or through Board members over on the 'bay. I would like to thank all of you for making the last six months as fantastic as they were regarding my quest to beat the Monster. To any member that I haven't transacted with as of yet, "Fear not, It's only a matter of time".

518. Below is the last card I picked up for my set. (Technically, it was part of a group of four, but I wouldn't have bought this particular Merkle if I wasn't able to buy the other three cards in the lot to finish.)

Just started the monster right before Christmas with the strange task of going alphabetically only. I'm at Ames now as my next need, so I have the first 6 cards in the set plus a couple others....so the monster # is at a whopping 8.

I hope to have the e98 set done by the time I reach Co***...! At that point, I'll just be working on the set fulltime and not worrying about alphabetical crap.

Default Halfway there

I usually don't toot my own horn but I'm proud to recently receive this card. It represents card #259 and puts me at the halfway point toward my goal of a complete 518-card T206 set. My first T206 purchase was in 1994, so it has been a slow climb. If I didn't have so many other vintage card distractions, I'd probably be further along. But I'm having fun with my collection.

Congrats on the half way mark. As a collector of solely SGC 40s, I appreciate the beauty of that Starr... I wish all my forties looked like that!
