Default T207 Question

Posted By: Patrick McMenemy

I have noticed more than once seeing T207s with borders lacking the normal silver edge.

Is this a production error?

Are these more likely fakes or reproductions?

Normal Silver Edge

Lacking Silver Edge

I'm sure one of the resident experts can answer this one.

Thanks in advance,

Patrick

Default T207 Question

Patrick- My answer would be no and no. Certain cards in the series have that silver border although no one I know has any idea why. Both the white or tan borders and the silver borders were made with Recruit backs (commons) and I don't have a good answer why this happened but you see both borders frequently although the silver borders appear on fewer players' cards.

Default T207 Question

Thanks for the response Tbob:

Are individual players found with both borders? Or is it a case of a particular card is always found with the tan border, whereas, others are always found with the silver.

Thanks again,

Patrick

Default T207 Question

I am going from memory here but it seems to me like I have seen players with both colors of borders. I seem to remember I owned Strunk, for example, with both colors of borders and ditto for Schulte. I don't remember ever seeing a silver border on the Broadleaf, Anonymous or Red Cycles, just Recruits, but I could be mistaken.
