Default E95 Wagner/Evers/Cicotte SGC 10 or "A" ???

Gents,

I am planning on sending some E95s to SGC for Grading. My question is would the following 3 cards get SGC 10 or Authentic?

I have seen cards with corners missing get both 10 and Authentic. I don't know what makes the difference. Is is if it is cut or torn?

The Wagner and Evers you can tell are torn, not cut. Now, the Cicotte has small notches cut into the side with probably a pocket knife.

Thanks for your feedback,
Dan

I would think the Wagner and the Cicotte would get 10's. The Evers is little more on the borderline because more of the card is missing, but I could see it still getting a 10. Could go either way however.

Default Cicotte 10, the others A (maybe)

I don't know what percentage of the card is necessary for a numerical grade. Cut/trimmed corners would definitely be A. Torn, I don't know. I was sure that this double name would be a 10, but it came back an A.

Thanks Guys,

Does it really matter on the overall value? If you go with the buy the card, not the holder it wouldn't. The Wagner for example, would an "A" be worth less than a 10?

I don't think you can rule out the number being worth more than the AUT. In recent times that is changing but polls on this board have shown that the same card in a 10 holder vs an AUT holder, is that the 10 would fetch more money. I personally would pay a little more for a 10 than an AUT...again, if it's the same exact card. Now, if it's just the same card in the series and not the exact same card, then we can go back to buy the card....and a really nice AUT will probably bring more than a crappy looking 10....and I would pay more for the nice AUT over a crappy 10....Hope that makes sense.

so, to me, the net-net of it is if you can get a 10 on a card rather than an AUT, it's probably a bit more money in your pocket....imo

You think that's a beater? Damn!!! Mine literally consists of "only" the area from his knees to just below the name box.. I paid a penny with 1.49 shipping on the bay about 4 or 5 years ago...I know it's worthless, but I decided that I just had to have it.. Oh, and did I mention it was used as well..

Default Sgc 10

Both SGC and PSA are inconsistent on this issue. I'd guess SGC 10 on Cicotte and Wags, but Auth on Evers. I wish they were more consistent.

If you had a tiny clipped corner, you could actually tear off a little more and turn an "A" into a SGC 10 or PSA 1. That makes no sense!

Another one that seems crazy is a pinhole. Any sharp PSA card with a pinhole will get a 1. However, you could have round corners and a couple creases and get a PSA 2. Crazy system...

Thanks Ron,

That is why I posted this question. It seems to be all over the map. I saw a SGC card today with 2 of 4 corners missing and it was a 10 (link below).

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1909-E95-Phi...item2eac65e72d

I sent all of my E95's to SGC today. It will be interesting to see what happens. I might call them on Monday and ask what the criteria is for a 10 or an "A" is? Anyway, when I find out I will post whether or not they got a 10 or Authentic.

Dan
