Default rebacked s74's on ebay

this seller listed a few s74-1's on ebay.

http://shop.ebay.com/merchant/etipring

if the scans are accurate, then the silks have been re-backed.
the silk portions are legit. the cardboard portions are from the silk actress series, not baseball. the homemade silks look pretty bad, but i thought i'd give everyone a heads up on this just in case.

Not sure about this Andy. I think I see the words Base Ball in front of the word Actress. Am I misreading the poor scans?

Edit to say that for all of his listings he has used the same back scan and he mentions that fact in his listing.

hi zinn,
your eyes are fine. however, the baseball backs (they say the same thing) are on plain cardboard. the actresses are on a "chipboard" cardboard back.
i have never seen a baseball player with the chipboard backing. i am 99.99% certain that these are fakes.

john is correct, to a point. baseball Old Mill backs cannot have a frame. Turkey Red (baseball) backs can have a frame or not.....they come both ways.

actress silks (turkey red, old mill, and red sun) can all have the frame....and i believe that they all come only with the frame....i could be wrong there, as i only have a few actress silks (all have the frame), but i do not actively collect actress silks.

no baseball series has ever been documented with the chipboard back.

Thanks Andy...had my eyes on the Matty. I noticed the border but didn't realize that Old Mill baseball are borderless only.

Uh oh Andy looks like a class action suit now.....you may want to get Jeff to defend you but seeing as he's way past 25 and not retired not sure how good of an attorney he really is....

Andy/All,
Have you seen this seller's addition to his description and new scans of the backs for the s74 auctions?
Now he's saying actress scans were posted "in error" and has now posted the correct reverse scans.
the fronts still look funny as fraying t&b do not appear to match reverse cardboard showing through.
Your take, if any?

the auctions are over, i did not see the additional scans prior to now.

i would still be very leary of these silks....i asked the seller the question and his response was not that there was a scanning (listing) error.

the silks not matching up with the backs are reason enough to stay away.

they did bring huge $$$$'s
