Hey Andy - can you check my thread from yesterday "my first question" and tell me if you know anything? Thanks!

Edit: and there's another thread titled "1970s baseball pinbacks" that asks the same question, but with more pictures.

Hi Rob,

I'm afraid I can't help with your question. I've owned a few over the years but not with the "rose" background. I've had a few A's with the same coloring as Vida. I've seen a few Cubs if I remember correctly as well.

Mike's table display....is, in large part, the reason why I started collecting 5-6 years ago. I never get tired of seeing it.

Great stuff, Fellas.

Andy, i knew your collection was world-class. The website share confirmed it. Absolutely jawdropping, sir.
Thank you for sharing it with us.

Thanks for the kind words Aaron! I too love seeing displays and some of Al's posts really propelled me as well. I'm still a generalist at heart, but most of my funds are centered on Cubs and Tigers now. I need to update both of those display photos, because I have added quite a few pieces. I'll do it today and get them on this thread.

Pinbacks are soooooo fun to collect!!!

I've shown them before, but since we've got a new pins thread going --

Here's the common Luke Appling on the seldom seen placard/brochure that was also given out that day.

Also shown: three PCL pins.

Rob,
Thanks for pumping some life into this thread!

As I result, Al reached out to me and offered up this duplicate Gaylord Perry PM-10 pinback this evening so I filled a hole in my collection. [/QUOTE]

As follow up to my earlier post:
I received this Gaylord Perry pinback from Al today. It looks terrific.
For those of you who haven't dealt with Al before, I will tell you that he's terrific.

BTW, this is the second pinback that I've purchased from him and I'm really pleased with both of them.... Thanks Al!

Clint,
I'm glad that you showed everyone your Dizzy Dean pinback.

I still feel that's one of the most visually attractive pinbacks that I've seen. If I was a Cards fan it would be at the top of my must have list!

Thanks Scott. The photo isn't too far off from the size maybe a little bigger. It's the only one I've seen and I'm not sure why the rarity.

Default SF Seals, 1949 Japan Tour

Here are some of my favorite pre-Giants SF pins, all from the historic Lefty O'Doul-led 1949 SF Seals tour of Japan.

The wonderful enameled badges with ribbons were given to and worn by tour participants, including players, management, press, military, and other dignitaries.

Thanks for your nice comments about my pin collection Al -- I'll post a few more later today. I haven't posted much because I've been doing more liquidating than buying!
The grouping you just put up for sale is amazing. I'm sure some collectors are salivating!
