I admire Him! No, I adore him! No, I envy him, No I hate him! Just kidding with the last one. Seriously, This thread is not a put down or gripe, it is actually a compliment, but how does David B Vintage, David Bryan, always have such nice stuff on ebay! He sure does a wonderful job of seeking out new material all of the time. My hats off to him!

And now that I think of it, so does Barry Sloate. My compliments to you for another beautiful auction!

Tim Kindler
P.S. I still envy you guys!

but I recently bought a card from him and it was a flawless transaction. I agree with you also. He has always got nice stuff listed. Meaning T206s, not sure whatelse since I focus on them.

I don't want to pour it on and make this a lovefest but he's got great stuff and all transactions are CLEAN. There are a few sellers like this but nobody does it better (maybe the same, but not better).

I have bought items from David at least once a month and it seems like they are in my mailbox 3 days after the auction ends, and always securely packed.

I agree with everyone's positive comments of David's Vintage. He always has nice clean cards for sale. I was able to "Shop Victoriously" tonight at ebay and win the 1915 Cracker Jack Al Bridwell PSA 7 from his auction. I have won cards from him before with no problems at all. Great Ebayer!

Always looking for 1915 Cracker Jack PSA 7's & 8's.

First class. No hype, accurate descriptions, a wide variety of offerings and fast/secure shipping. If he says it's tough, rare or scarce... I believe him.

David is one of my oldest and closest hobby friends, and he does it mostly by hard work. He spends a lot of time searching out good material, and a lot of time listing and selling. And he is the most honorable and honest person I ever met. The hobby is a better place because of people like David.

And thanks Tim for the compliment.

The guys on the non-sports side are also wondering where he gets his stuff. many items that we have never seen before.

Barry, I agree hard work is the key. But he seems to have come out of nowhere with unlimited supplies.

David is a good friend and I speak with him around once a week...sometimes more. When something goes crazy on the board I either hear from David, or I call him, to bounce stuff off of him. I am no David but I do try....He is one of the most fair and ethical people I know in the hobby...I do a bit of business with him too. Always has good stuff..I wish the whole hobby were made up of folks like him....regards

ps...I bounce a lot of stuff off of Barry too....didn't want to leave you out Barry...

Amen to all above. I discovered him on eBay quite some time before I found this net54 site...

But the question remains, where does he get all of his stuff??

My guess is a time machine.

Not much else to say. I too buy at least an item a month. He just has to stop offering all that neat stuff or else I'll go broke.

P.S. I didn't get a Christmas card.

I've won at least 20 auctions over the years from David and every single one went perfect,if anyone deserves a thread full of praise its him. I've also talked to him online a couple times and he always answers questions.

I disagree about Barry though, hes a horrible seller because everything he auctions that I want goes too high for me. Youre breaking rule #1 with me Barry,if i cant afford it,I dont buy it!

I am a little mad I havent got a Christmas card from David now though.I think I'll go win some things from him and wish him a belated Merry Christmas with each win all thru the year, till about September then I'll switch to an early Merry Christmas. Thats my new goal for the year, get a Christmas card from David! My old goal of not pushing down an old lady for the entire year wasn't a realistic goal anyway

That's why I decided not send out holiday cards anymore--too easy to leave someone off and too easy to send one to someone who doesn';t send you one and then how does it go? Hey, there's a Seinfeld/Curb Your Enthisiasm episode! Who needs writers!!!

I met David for the first time at the Chicago National a couple years ago. I asked him that same question. Needless-to-say he just smiled at me and said nothing. I thought I might be able to get a secret or two out of him, but I should have known better. I have purchased from him several times and can say, just like evryone else, that I have never had a problem. He is true hobby gentleman.

I sat at the same table during the Net 54 dinner at the '06 National. I overheard someone ask David that same "where do you get your material?" question. His answer was somenting like this: "back in the days of the local card shows...I was always at them with a booth...people still contact me." That is the best of my recollection as to his answer.

Where I grew up David is what is known as "a good ole boy." I have bought from him in the past, but obviously not enough to warrant a Christmas card.

Met David B. at the Anaheim National. Had a nice chat with him. He's a very relaxed guy. Asked him the same question as everyone else and recall an answer to the effect that he works hard at beating the bushes. Have made several purchases from him off eBay. Always like his auctions as much for the lack of bs as anything else. Don't know how I rated a Christmas card though. Maybe I will put this on the BST .

One of our first and a very active members on VCP. Meet him at the National in Anaheim and had a nice sit down with him to go over the site and what he needs it for. A real gentleman and a pleasure to know.

This is a nice thread. It's always easy to rag on the bad transactions and scam artists (and they should be outed), but the good guys don't always get the credit. David is a great dealer to deal with..no muss no fuss..great items shipped promptly..and the xmas card was a nice touch too. I will also pile on and give kudos to Barry too..he's another quality dealer!

Just like in our everyday lives, many of us, including myself, seem to focus on the negatives instead of the positives. Unfortunatly, we have all had to deal with some duds in the collecting world, but the men and women on this board, and ebayers like DavidB are really class people. I have had about 10 dealings with DavidB and many dealings, both buying and selling, with many of us from this board, and they have all been flawless, pleasant transactions. I thought I would just have a thread about something positive in all of our lives. Keep up the good and positive work everybody!

I hope I don't sound to much like Stuart Smalley from Saturday Night Live!

He just seems to be one of the best dealers around, I do not know David personally but have been buying from him for a long time. I always look to see what he has on his website. The contacts he has are all over the country, as many of the dealers and collectors I know have good experiences with him. When the large Old Judge cards were purchased by him and had a great story to go with them, I just had a feeling about him and his business.
