T209/T210 Shared Poses
I have updated my website and added scans of a number of T209-2 and T210 cards that reproduce the same player pose, a phenomenon similar to T211/T210-8 cards. Follow this link and enjoy!

Great stuff, Mike, as ever! Both the images and your notes to accompany them.
Interesting, by the way, that Sherrill (Raleigh) is so very rare in the T209 set because he left the team early in the 1910 season, but his T210 (also Raleigh) is not as far as I know rare. Last edited by sgbernard; 11-16-2015 at 08:48 PM. |

Thank you for the comments. Landgraff (T210-2) is now on the site.
Seth--Jason Wells would probably know better than I, but I think Sherrill is a bit tougher to find in T210. In T209-2, as you note, he's virtually impossible. Cheers, Mike

Mike, what a great thread! I am a postwar collector, but I wander over here pretty often because of work like yours. I really appreciate the time and effort you put in to share with other collectors. I have toyed with the idea of doing some tobacco card collecting at some point, and research like yours is very valuable to those of us who like learning. I guess some might not collect T209 or T210 because of the minor league angle, but they are really interesting. I have no idea how costly they are relative to other cards of this era, but your research and other reading I have started doing because of your research makes me think something like this might be a possibility for me someday. I have also liked what I have seen of the T207s.

Thank you all for your supportive comments.
I updated the narrative description of the shared poses, and added all 43 known examples to the gallery of T209-T210 shared poses. http://t209-contentnea.com/t209-cont.../shared-poses/ Enjoy! Cheers, Mike

Great job! Now I wish I had the funds to collect the 209s! The scenery behind the players on the 209 makes the card. Great website!

As a type collector some of my favorite T209-2s (photo series) have great background scenes with dudes and other things.... and a few from my prior collection...

The Sharp is one of my favorite T209 backgrounds. Along with what has to be one of the first photobombs in history!

Double post.
As for the toughness of the Sherrill within T210 I have to agree with Mike. I only base that on the fact I have not been able to acquire one yet! Even though there is one I have been eyeing recently..... Last edited by Jason; 11-23-2015 at 07:23 AM. |
